A Texas prosecutor says he doesn't think he's ever seen anything like it before.
A Houston man has been sentenced to ten years probation for offering to strangle a depressed Wisconsin woman he met through an online suicide chat room.

The Houston Chronicle says Frank Manuel was also ordered to submit to a mental evaluation and stay away from the Internet. Manuel had pleaded guilty to attempted murder in a plea deal.

Prosecutors say the woman alerted police after meeting Manuel through the Internet chat group. She says Manuel had offered to strangle her during sex, dig a grave for her in a state forest, and bury her with a rose on her chest.

Police arrested Manuel in January at a Houston bus station, where he was awaiting the woman's arrival. They say they also found a strangling device and yellow roses in his car.

The woman said Manuel told her to sell her belongings and use several methods of transportation to get to Texas.
