The .45 and 9mm variant of the same pistol?

I love my fnx .45tactical and was looking at either a fnx.45 or an fnx9. I'm well stocked in both caliber a so ammo isn't really a factor.

Would it be useful to have a .45 and 9mm version of the same gun?

The only .45 I own is an Uzi machine gun and its fun to shoot but I dont reload and I really only shoot 9mm most of the time.

If it hadn't come with the whole package I wouldn't have bothered buying it.

I do like the various .22 conversions that I own though, those are lots of fun and I've considered buying/building up standalone. Those get a lot of use especially with the family or new shooters.

I want a 9mm 1911, but had an unexpected $10,500 medical bill, so that will have to wait.

Useful how? I don't see anything wrong with it but not really useful either.

Already having a fnx .45 tactical why the fnx .45? If you're looking for another polymer .45 consider a usp .45 tactical.

USP 45 and USP 9, same with the compact variants.  Also have a few .40's of the USP's sprinkled in.

Also have a G26 and G30.

It had the same manual of arms, and I honestly don't have any interest in a usp

Same as above but 2, no .22lr.

I did have a 9mm 1911 that went with my .45 1911.

I was fingering a Glossy Blued CZ97 at the LGS just yesterday. Tempted, very tempted.

Then I could answer "yes" to this. For now, I'll sit back and read the other responses.

Kahr P45 and PM9, Sig P226/220, G17/22, and G21 are as close as I come to that.

Hate to get fucked up by any of them.

If you can afford both, it makes sense to have pistols that can fire either cartridge.  That way, you can use whichever pistol ammo is on sale or currently in your inventory.

My ammo inventory has often been the deciding factor for which rifle, or handgun I ended up taking to a match.  It is nice to have choices.

Own a ruger Blackhawk convertible in both .45 colt/auto and .357/9mm

Wasn't planning on getting a second one but found a great buy on a used 6.5" .357 and I was looking for a 6"+ .357 just cause.
