"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhaeuser Tannhäuser. all those moments will be lost in, time like tears in. rain" http://i.giphy.com/GSo6B8zI9QUNi.gif

What is tarded on the directors cut? Quoted:

Yes, original theatrical cut. The director's cut is tarded. What is tarded on the directors cut? It drops the running narrative by Deckard/Ford, which was pretty important in building and maintaining the whole 1940's noir feel of the original theatrical release. |

Today I read the stupidest thing ever posted on the internet. So did I, just now. The cutesy Lucas-esque changes in the director's cut is a man who rightly got over-ruled on many things that made the original story so powerful and the film such a masterful and eloquent piece of story telling. Decker might be a replicant! Ooooh, what a gotcha! Except for him to be so shits on the entire theme of the movie - which is a human learning what it is to be human, juxtaposed against the replicants plight, witnessing their dilemma against his job to stop them. Oh, and that he's weak & bleeds red blood - would pretty much make him the stupidest idea for replicant hunter, ever. Seriously, that's just a fucking stupid and pointless gimmick. It's what Damon Lindelof would do if he were puking all over a sci-fi script. The loss of the voice-over was stupid too, it was excellent exposition and brought a noir feel to the original. He literally jettisoned the best stuff, and added a film ruiner. It's not often that the studio improves a movie by over-ruling the director, but in this case it's entirely the case. Ridley doesn't even seem to understand the story he's telling, if given his way. |
