If you can't afford a new one or Verizon cannot offer a deal to make it affordable, then get her something else OP. A.W.D. |

If she wants a 6 then why shouldn't the OP buy a used one and save some money? OP, make sure the IMEI is clean, there are websites you can run it through, and maybe even call Verizon and ask (I don't know if they'll tell you.) Also make sure it's not in lost mode and make sure there's no current iCloud account signed in. If you're buying on EBay you should be protected in case you get a locked phone. As for the specific model you'll need a Verizon one if you want to use it on Verizon. The unlocked GSM phones don't have the radio bands you'll need on Verizon. The good news is the Verizon ones are also unlocked and do have the GSM bands so if you wanted to use a Verizon phone on a GSM carrier you'd be able to do so. |

There are so many ifs with Craigslist (and the like) used phones that I would not buy one.
Stolen, "find my phone" still enabled, etc. As has been said, just go buy one from a cellular vendor and do the monthly payment option if you don't have the 800+ for a brand new one. |

Iphones work everywhere... except for the new 7s. Quoted:

If there's nothing wrong with it and it's not locked then you'll be ok. If you're on Verizon then you'll want a Verizon phone. Iphones work everywhere... except for the new 7s. The GSM only phones don't have the CDMA bands that you need if you actually want to make calls with your phone on Verizon. EDIT: WTF. Verizon says you can use a non-Verizon iPhone as long as it's 6 or higher on their network. Apple says the GSM iPhones don't have the CDMA radios though. I don't know what's up with that. |
