I'm trying to find the Sigma/SD in excel and I get two different answers.

When I SQRT the variance I get one answer and when I do the STDEV I get another one.

WTF? and which should I use?

If i round them to three places i get same answer, but the numbers overall aren't the same.

Use the stdev

The std dev and the variance formulas are the same, except for the square root.

You're just seeing rounding error.

Sigma is the population estimator and standard deviation is the sample estimator. I have no idea what formula excel uses.
