The spousal unit is nuts for college football, especially FSU. I can't name anything offhand that interests me less.
Any other football widowers in the house? |

I just never got the bug for sports of any kind, other than shooting. There are some things I'll watch - MMA fighting sometimes - but generally watching sports does about as much for me as watching people eat would. |

College ball can be ok, however pro football is basically boring as shit. Her whole family watches the Eagles and I usually go do gun stuff. Oh yeah pics of spousal unit.. |

I'd post pics but (a) she is a beautiful woman who usually looks like a toad in photographs; (b) I hold out some hope of romance after the game; and (c) I don't know how to post pics. |

Just be glad it's not cooking shows or those stupid "I Dropped My Pants At First Sight" dumb shows. Since you mentioned it, I have noticed that my wife does not respond to me when I drop trou and manipulate my privates in the same way I would respond to her if she did likewise. |

Yup, my wife is a football crazy nut job....yells at the TV, cussing at bad plays etc.
But it is only a few months a year so I can deal with it. I watch one game, the super bowl that's it. Could care less for the rest of the season. Plus she doesn't complain about my disappearing for all day to gun shows etc. |

Dont take this the wrong way but i have never heard of a gf/wife liking sports but the bf/husband not liking sports. In my small existence of life, it seems like if the guy doesnt like sports, he is more artsy and attracts another artsy woman. Not a bad thing or judging. I just have never seen a non sporty guy with a sporty woman. |

I like college football but can't stand to watch a FSU game for this reason. If the are in a key game I have to watch it on mute. Annoying as hell. Braves games same thing. |

I didn't like football until Joe Montana started playing for the 49ers. After that, I'd sit down with my dad and enjoy watching him do his thing. He was an incredible QB under pressure against the odds.
I drifted away from it for awhile during the '80s and then started watching again when my wife was pregnant with my son in the mid-90s. You know, to this day my son lives and breaths football-especially college games. Must have been those football games we were watching or listening to when he was in the womb. He's a double business major who will graduate this December, but he'll set enough time aside to catch a few games on Saturday. I didn't really care for college football until he started following the BSU Broncos. Hell, I installed cable for the head coach of BSU (Dirk Koetter) in 1998 or so when he moved into his new digs at Columbia Village in east Boise and thought very little about when he told me what he did. Hell of a very nice fellow, BTW. Now he's a head coach in the NFL IIRC. In 2008, we attended every BSU game played at home and tailgated with our neighbor next door in the parking lot right in front of the stadium entrance when coach Pete was at the helm and Kellen Moore was QB. Had an absolute blast. Cooking on the grill and drinking cold beer at 1100 in the morning. Started to sort of follow other college teams too, and I do enjoy college for the same reason he does; very unpredictable and the attitude of the players is ever so slightly better than the whinny want-to-be thugs playing for the NFL. Hell OP, I'd grab a copy of "Idiots Guide To Football" or something like it and learn some more about the game. You never know, it may make more sense to you and be more enjoyable when your wonderful wife (she sounds awesome) is watching a game on the boob tube. Now, back to watching Oklahoma vs. TCU. Beer with steak, loaded baked potato, salad, and bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers stuffed with string cheese to follow. |

Honestly, I'd rather split and stack firewood than watch football, or any sport for that matter. |

Between a team from OK, and a team from The Great State Of Texas (God's Country), yes-TCU. They have a pretty good program. They'd better do something quick, though. TCU beat my Broncos when Kyle Brotzman failed to make a field goal in December of 2008. Of course, he was the weak link playing Nevada too. He used to help coach my son's HS football team after his college football career was over. The guy had one hell of a leg. He'd coach the kicker during half time, and he made kicking the ball from one end of the field to the other seem effortless. I guess he just couldn't handle the pressure of being in a live game very well. I felt badly for him. |

College ball anyway. She's a huge Ohio State fan, I couldn't care less about college ball.
