Why don't out congress critters just pass a law that states you can't loiter on public streets, roads and highways and impede traffic?
It would let all the special snowflakes have their protest and we could all still go to work. |
|
I have to imagine at this point the cops are kind of fed up with this BLM bullshit and are willing to take concessions just to ensure these fucking entitled criminal snowflakes don't take to the street enmasse.
Also, half of the democrats are pushing this shit to energize the Black vote to vote democrats. You really think their going to stop that for " law and order"?
Get real brother, this is an all or nothing election year and they put their chips on the table |
|
people would still do it. The point of protesting is to make a stink. Protesting standing off to the side or while hiding in a bush is a waste of fucking time. Giving the cops more reason to haul people away in paddy wagons just gives them more ammunition.
ETA: you know how at big VIP events the government shoves all the protestors into a "free speech zone" half a mile a way and behind a bunch of fences? yeah, protesting only where you're "allowed to" is bullshit. i'm not saying I like people blocking the damn roads for their dumb bullshit, just saying that there's a good reason that they do it. |

It is already illegal to block a highway. Do you want to make extra illegal? Quoted:

Go assemble in the park. It is already illegal to block a highway. Do you want to make extra illegal? He wants to make a Federal case out of it. |

I'd venture to guess that most places have laws against walking in the public roadway so as to create a hazardous condition to traffic. That being said.......note what the penalties are. In most places, I'd venture to guess that it's a, "violation." Then, even if you had the manpower to enforce the law (in some/most places you can't even arrest, unless it was a CRIME).....so, the cops could write tickets. While the 100s or 1000s of protesters walk by.
Anyway.... Remember, that YouTube video of the rock band playing on the roof of a building? The crowed gathers below and blocks the intersection of the road. The police took enforcement action against the band. Isn't that an easier solution then trying to break up the large crowd? Humm....... IIRC....the court ruled that it was the police's problem to deal with the crowd. It's not the bands fault. As the band had a right to FREE SPEECH. So....knowing that. And because, protesting itself is protected.......FREE SPEECH. Threading that needle just becomes more difficult. There are even places where a "permit" is required to walk in protest/parade. Not that BLM gives a $@^* about Whitey's laws. But, OK, maybe they did get a protest/parade permit. So, can you guess who ends up paying for the peaceful protest/parade when things go wrong? Hint: It's always the PD's fault. Aloha, Mark |

almost every local municipality and/or county and state would have laws about pedestrians obstructing a roadway/ highway. However, at this time local law enforcement agencies are not willing to enforce applicable laws. Seems like from the Top down they need to get their shit straight, but I guess if they do that then the US AG's office is going to go after them. |

Go assemble in the park. It is already illegal to block a highway. Do you want to make extra illegal? so how in the hell are the highways getting blocked? Because the laws aren't enforced in situations like that, because it will just lead to uses of force and bad press for the agency doing it. Which is what the people blocking the highway would love. |

Go assemble in the park. It is already illegal to block a highway. Do you want to make extra illegal? so how in the hell are the highways getting blocked? Because most large PDs are ran by what amount to political appointees who take their orders from politicians (for the most part). Liberal politicians (like most large city Mayors) aren't going to allow their LEAs to use force against their voter base when all they are doing is "peacefully protesting." Especially with how the federal government looks upon any remotely questionable (or even completely justified) UoF nowadays. |

That's a crock. Sure they have the right to protest, but not to shut down the city. They can peacefully protest all they want, but when they start blocking roads they need to get shut down hard. |

Hickory shampoo the first mother fucker that becomes a pedestrian on a highway. Seeing people "assemble" on our roadways makes us look week to the Norks, think of the children. |

Go assemble in the park. Does the Constitution state a specific place to assemble? Good, every road is a now a toll road held by private government sponsored enterprises!!! Now the protestors can go and take the constitution with Them to the park to protest! |

There is MUCH more to policing protests, civil unrest and "riots" than meets the eye. J- |

No more restrictive laws. If anything, less restrictions. For instance, if an individual engaging in a protest impedes your free and unobstructed movement you should be allowed to use force to move them. After the first few dozen hippies and other losers get brodozed they will get the hint |
