I was looking at an archived thread and the recommended motion detection light was made
by RAB. Is this still true? Also what bulbs would be the best?

RAB stealth for motion. I just installed 8 of them again today with the led bullets.
You can either use their led bullets, or a 10 plus wattx2 par 38 led (I like the Westinghouse par 38 floods, but there are a bunch of good led lamp manufacturers these days).

Motion lights? Go to menards and pay 40 bucks a piece or so for some LED units. Not spot lights but flood, we put up bunches of them and they were great.
