As I suspected, nothing has changed in the last 2 years, and it still sucks.

I need to do it though.  I got way too fat since I stopped.  Crazy how that works, isn't it?

I can't wait to run again.  I've had both knees operated on this year and can't run.  Hopefully can start again in November.

Good luck to you.

I was never good at it, never liked it, never had the body type for it...I just liked being able to do it.  Sounds dumb but it makes sense to me.  I hate the physical act, but I like the fact that I can.

If it's what you want to do to drop weight go for it. As much as it sucks. It's really a great way to stay healthy.

I lost 35lb of body fat on an elliptical just because of the joint Impact. Now I'm running trails and streets... and the occasional Ragnar relay and Spartan Races.

The old lady just ran the 1/2 marathon at Holden and really enjoyed it.  She stopped running about six years ago (right before the first kid, actually) and started back training for the 1/2 the end of June this year.   It was a neat run - the course went out over the bridge and then back across it.  She's going to do the whole bridge series next year - Holden, Sunset, Oak Island, and OIB.   http://coastalraceproductions.com/big-ass-medals-race-series/

That's a long way of saying that if you like running, you ought to give those a shot.   It helped her having an actual goal to train towards, and she really enjoyed the actual marathon.

A couple years back I went from couch potato to doing 2 Tough Mudders in a year, then slowly back to couch potato

Doing another TM next year so, time to get up and going again.  I like that doing events like that gets me motivated, but I hate that it takes having to do an event like that to get me motivated too.
