A while ago, I was looking for a used optic for my 16" Carbine build. ArmsUnlimited had some RX34 Police trade-ins for $200.00 each. The package included an ARMS throw lever mount, original box, manual and stickers. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_163/1574274_Trijicon_RX34_Reflex_Dot_Sight_w__ARMS_Throw_Lever_Mount____200.html I bought one (I regret not buying all of them) and per the add, it wasn't perfect. The front lens had a big ding in it, but the optic worked fine. I didn't mind the cosmetic condition of the housing, which didn't affect the function, but I wanted to get the lens repaired. I call Trijicon and asked how much to replace the front lens. I was told that depending on what actually had to be done, it would be between $80.00 - $148.00. I thought this was a fair price so I sent it in to them about 2.5 weeks ago. I called them this morning because I haven't received a call for a CC number for the repair and was told the Reflex Sight had been repaired and serviced at no charge. When I asked why, they said it was still under warranty. I thought that was odd because the front lens damage was caused by the user, not a defect. I thanks them and am now a Trijicon loyalist. It should be here in a couple of days. Thanks ArmsUnlimited for offering this and thanks Trijicon for a great warranty and customer service department! I know, CSB. |

Quoted: I had that happen with mine, my subgun rattled it apart and the lens chipped out along the edge. They fixed it too, but they didn't replace the lens. ![]() I like the sight enough that I ain't bothered. Mine had a gouge near the dot that was a little distracting. Still functional, but it was something I wanted to fix. |

They are outstanding. I sent in a TA31 RCO when the windage adjustment stopped working. The optic was over ten years old and had been to Iraq a couple of times on an infantry M4 and was in a turret during a direct IED blast and had the bruises to show it. The tritium was still bright, but the tip of the chevron was a bit dark. I sent it in right after Thanksgiving and went on a trip in December.
No word from Trijicon and I didn't expect to see if until the new year, but when I got home a couple days after Christmas it was sitting there waiting for me. Trijicon kept the body on it, which was rather patinated with history, but they replaced everything internally. Everything. It was basically a new optic with cool guy marks. No charge whatsoever, just a note that detailed the work they did. I am 100% on the Trijicon Kool Aid. |

I've had the exact opposite experience with them…. I bought an SRS that died TWICE. The first died within 30 days (just went dark, changing batteries and all kinds of button pressing did no good) so I returned and exchanged it. Then that one broke too…. I picked it up one day and the dot was at full brightness. Any attempt to turn it down resulted in it flashing even brighter then shutting down. I sent it in for service. It came back (like 6 weeks later) with a severely scratched rear lens (I'm 99% sure it wasn't that way before as it had been gently handled and cleaned with a soft lens pen and shipped it in it's pelican case) plus it has shut-down on it's own 4 times in the 6 months since I got it back. All 4 times it shut down while leaning against the wall next to my bed. I pick it up and it's off. Take the battery out, put it back in, and it's on again.
Needless to say I'm extremely unhappy given that it's a $1k optic. I'm an engineer so I doubt that ALL of these issues have been user error. My ACOG, on the other hand, it wonderful. |
