GF can't sleep through the log sawing. Do any of y'all have a recomdation on a mouth guard that can snuff the chainsaw action? Pure Sleep is what comes to mind, but the ads for all products are so f*****g cheesy... Need help.

Go to a sleep clinic and get the mask that makes you quit snoring logs and get a great night of sleep. May take a few days to get used to the gray noise of it but no worse than a fan. At least that is what my mom says. I know I need to go to the sleep clinic and get one myself. Just hate having to go to any doctor.

Correct pillows did the trick for me. Get 3 or 4 different types and try it out before getting a face mask machine.

Do you still have your tonsils? If so, grab a big bottle of alcohol, any alcohol, and a bottle of 151, some really sharp scissors and a pair of needle nose pliers.
Drink the alcohol, stand in front of the bathroom mirror, reach into your mouth with the needle nose pliers and grab your tonsils. Now carefully
reach in with the scissors and snip the tonsils off. Now pour a glass of 151 and light it and quickly drink it, the alcohol will sterilize the cut and the 151 on
fire will cauterize the wound. This quick fix will get you back in good with the GF.

Now follow the damn rules and post a pic of said GF.

In all seriousness, ask your doc about being checked for sleep apnea. Sleep studies can now be done at home.

It might just save your life - it certainly saved mine. Your better half deserves not only a good night's sleep, but she also deserves to not have to suffer the loss of her partner.

Good luck brother

Depends on insurance but even without, a top of the line machine will be under $1000.

This is nothing when compared to the potential cost of ignoring severe sleep apnea.

OP, talk to your MD and get a referral for a home sleep test. You may or may not have sleep apnea but if you do, you want to know.

for the snoring, get her a sleep study and a CPAP.  my MiL is RAIL thin and snores like a frickin bear.  She can wake up the whole house, literally.

+1 vote for Hillary, also the wall just got 5ft lower

edit: Good luck OP. Get it fixed so your GF and YOU can sleep better. Not getting sleep will mess with people and would ruin an otherwise good relationship.

I interpreted the OP that it was AstraPat's girlfriend having issues sleeping because of his snoring

I had a sleep study  done and then started using a c pap machine.I later went to a an adjustable mouth piece. Both work well.Im trying to decide which works best.I have been alternating both devices for a few days each. The mouth piece is much more convenient for travel. But I like having both available as they both work well.

Wasn't talking about the machine.... The sleep study since I hadn't covered my deductible was $1,500.

Did you have to go to a sleep lab for your study? I did, and my study was expensive too.

Doing the study at home is supposed to be much cheaper. I'm wondering how much cheaper (if at all) it actually is.

Edited for typo.

I don't see how there can be a home study.

I was wired up in 50 damned places and audio and video recorded as well as woken up several times to change masks. How does that work at home?

Yeah, I was wired up like that too. Took the tech over an hour to get all of the leads connected, and it seemed like every 87 seconds I knocked a lead loose or screwed up the mask.

My Dad had a home study done last year, and the hardware is a completely different ballgame now apparently. The device he was connected to wasn't much bigger than a pack of Marlboros, and he hooked it up himself.
