Starbucks on Montrose @ Hawthorne.
Fire truck, ambulance, two HFD rescue units. Neckbeard, 23 wm, had a diabetic episode. Passed out. He was sitting outside with his neckbeard woman. It was very hot and humid. He wolfed down some pre-made sushi. I nearly passed out watching that part. Shortly before the FD trucks arrived he was back on his feet. Put on his back pack, picked up his giant desk top gaming computer, and was walking away. They ran him down but he refused treatment. Diabetes ain't nothin fo a stepper. One of the homeless people from the Kroger grocery store across the street saw the ambulance and came over to have a curbside checkup. They took his vitals and sent him on his way. Show was over so we were leaving. A nice couple in 70's athletic kit came over. He was wearing super short tight gym shorts and a white muscle shirt. She was dressed the same. They were on bikes as well. They were asking about our bikes. And wanted to know the best way to carry a bike upstairs. Seemed like a nice couple. Just wanted to talk bikes. She was having trouble carrying hers up stairs and they wanted to know if we could offer suggestions. She was a small statured woman, probably from Spain from her accent. He sounded like he was from Michigan. Nobody mentioned pineapples or fruit plates but a swap was probably a possibility. You have to know this part of town. We did not fo. My new honey is totally white bread. That Starbucks is always entertaining. |
