Oh...I was wondering why I was hearing all these hate pieces against Mother Theresa on NPR yesterday. Leftists really hate her. But I was wondering, why are they bringing it up now? It highlights what a scam it all is... Teresa was the Hillary of charities. She never really helped the poor, she just gave them a place to die in misery. She believed that their suffering got them closer to Jesus. All her donations went to opening more squalid homes rather than medicine or equipment that would have helped or even saved some of the poor. She has a proper public face, and the Church needed a lift, so they invented miracles allocated to her, and got themselves a saint. The whole debacle proves that image is indeed everything. Withholding pain meds and stating that suffering made one closer to god. Saint?
Lots of good deeds, but still overshadowed by a warped sense of why and how the deeds should be carried out. Helping the downtrodden is a good thing, don't get me wrong but many feel she has been martyred and it is ill deserved. The two miracles are laughable also. MLK, saint. MT, nope. |
|
In order to be a Saint, don't you have to perform a "miracle"....as in, separate the seas, walk on water, turn water into wine, etc....
I'm not aware of any VERIFIABLE miracles that she performed. This is 2016....other than unexplained science, I'm not aware of anything that could be considered "divine intervention".... While she was an amazing and devoted woman who performed many acts of KINDNESS, I'm not sure how many were "miraculous". I think that claiming that someone is performing "miracles" in the age of verifiable science weakens the credibility of the church. Sure, sure, sure....some will have "faith"......But when the rubber meets the road, "SEEING is believing!" |

Her patients died in agony, separated from family members forbidden to see them, while this saint jetted around the globe acting righteous and begging for money that went primarily to the church in Rome. The lady was a evil fraud, arguably worse than the tens of thousands of priests torturing and raping children. But hey, three cheers for the saint. |

India is not the most charitable place in the world especially for the lower castes. Also, none of the money she collected went to Rome. It went to her order. A friends sister is in that order as well. |

Now that they got them a Saint Teresa what do the Catholics believe wearing or giving a Saint Teresa metal will do for them or the recipient?
I've found a few different silver Saint "this and that" metals while relic hunting CW battlefields and campsites over the years so they must mean something. |

I don't know enough to judge whether she was a good person, a misguided person, or an evil person. I'll let everyone else hash it out.
I do believe sainthood in truely a man made thing, and naming a dead person a saint doesn't make them any less dead, and they are far beyond ever knowing or caring about their canonization. Oblivion is oblivion.......... |

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile I'm surprised this post didn't get much attention. Mother Teresa took in MILLIONS of dollars. One estimate puts it as high as 50 million dollars. 50 million dollars and the patients at her flagship clinic in Calcutta all had to share one toilet with no walls or doors? As said above, people didn't really get much in the way of medical attention from Mother Teresa. You just went to her clinic if you wanted to die in the shade. She was also adamantly opposed to preaching the Gospel to patients at her clinics. You know, that thing Jesus told us to do? It's not often I agree with Hitchins or Penn and Teller, but they nailed it on this one. |
