I have had some material for my 3D printer on order sine last Monday. Still hasnt shipped, so i cancelled the order this morning and and i am wondering if paying a few more dollars for the stuff to have it filled by Amazon will make any difference. I have been ordering this from a vendor through Amazon for two years and never had an issue with them. Sucks because i have a guy waiting for parts i sold him and gave him a date i will now miss.

If Amazon can fill the order go for it. If you're up against a deadline it's worth a few extra bucks to fill your order on time.

How is this a question? Spend a few bucks more and get your customer his stuff.

Just not sure how the whole Amazon thing works? Think the main vendor is out so if they are wouldn't Amazon be as well?

Amazon just does distribution for 87 companies. Just because your guy is out doesn't mean all of the ones Amazon uses will be.

Do a search on Amazon for what you're looking for.

The best I can tell there's three types of stuff. Stuff from Amazon, other people's stuff that's shipped from Amazon (both these can be Prime shipping) and then there's stuff that's shipped from whoever sells it. When you get the latter is a gamble and you have to deal with their return policies if something has to be returned. I generally only deal with the first two that are shipped by Amazon.

A year or so ago, I desperately needed rivets, Amazon had a free trial of Prime, so I went with 2 day free shipping and ordered from Amazon direct. Took about 2 weeks to get the rivets.... They're not always on time.

pay the extra dough...pay the extra for next day prime....and fulfill your order with your customer and eat the loss if any...

It not showing shipped for over a week should have been a clue...99% of the stuff I order off Amazon ships within 24hrs...

good luck
