[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Stranger Things Season 2 CONFIRMED (Page 1 of 2)

So they're going with it being a year later. I'd imagine those kids are at least 2yrs older, possibly more, by the time filming starts. Or it could just be a new cast, which would be unfortunate.
I'm really keeping my hopes up, although Netflix season 2s can be a bit underwhelming. |

You know, as much as I wouldn't mind seeing them resume the storyline of the first season so we can see what happened to Eleven and the kids, I can accept them doing a new story with a new cast. Some things may have to remain a mystery. That would provide a great tone for the show in a way. The viewer writes the ending in their own mind. |

OITNB being the prime example. Season 1 was great. Season 2 was horrible. I'm waiting for Season 2 of Jessica Jones. I love that series. Quoted:

And I know they're doing season 2 of JJ, but IIRC, its going to be sometime in mid 2017 before it comes out. |

If they decide to go with a new cast, I can still see where there would be room for old characters to cross over. I can see Hopper coming back to represent the government role, and protector of Eleven, who's either stuck in the Upside Down or can move freely between worlds. I can also see Jonathan Byers being a monster slayer, but I doubt there's much more of a story for Nancy to tell. |

Quoted: Exactly. I was hoping for a new story with a new cast. basically like each season is a new story. http://www.kiss925.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/59/2016/08/stranger-things.1.2.644000.90.gif Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: So they're going with it being a year later. I read from a reddit post one of the Duffer's stated the character of Dustin’s voice is already changing so they are advancing the time line in the story by about a year. That would suck. "Hey kid, I know you've been working on this speech impediment your whole life, but can you just try to keep it a little longer?" |
|
I'm excited, but hesitant. They didn't leave a lot unanswered. The cast was perfect, but kids don't age well for their roles. Two years is going to be a big leap to just pick up that story, and the kids are going to look and sound completely different. That's half the reason Harry Potter casting has gone down in history. How they plucked that many kids at age 10 who could stick to it and nail it down for damn near a decade is insane. |

Those of us in the "nerd circle" have known this for a while. Creators have already said, Same cast, continuation of the story. ...and I'm fine with that like I said. I hope at some point they move on. I'd hate to see it devolve into a stale rehash of tired characters. |

David Harbour was great as Hopper. I really enjoyed his character's intensity. |

I agree that a couple of episodes of JJ got bogged down, but you can say the same thing about Breaking Bad, and that was the greatest television series of all time. |

I don't remember him in Quantum of Solace. I'll have to go back and watch that nor do I remember him in Revolutionary Road which was a really hard movie to watch (as in good not bad). |
