Doesn't matter if you're LEO or not, just wondering

In Summer? No way. Carry my Glock 26 with a spare mag, folding knife in my pocket and occasionally a fixed blade knife. This is also my winter carry as well. I carried a revolver a few times on my ankle but lately I hate being weighed down by 'extra" gear.
8/25/2016 6:30:24 PM EDT
[#2]
Don't feel the need for one; it's just extra stuff to carry around at this point. Frankly most of todays handguns are pretty reliable and most of us won't even need that. Personally, I'd carry an additional mag before I'd carry a BUG, but different strokes and all that.

Yes, a 642.

I think (although I've never actually checked) that my state's carry license does not allow it.

In other words, just one gun with a CHL here (non LEO).

Fellow Ohioans care to chime in?

God no. It's enough lugging one around with a reload. I'm not shoving two of them in my waistband.

You can carry as many as you want.

Sometimes I carry a Body Guard in addition to the Shield or M&P 9c.

Why the hell did I think not I wonder?

I want to say I thought that's what the concealed carry class instructor had said.  Don't remember though.

No.

Usually a pistol plus a spare mag.

Sometimes only a pistol, no spare mag.

Sometimes a pistol, multiple spare mags, an MP5k clone, an AR and multiple rifle mags.

Sounds like a bunch of amatuers.

Yeager has a glock 26 on each ankle in addition to his carry piece. That's where he stores his extra magazines.

I carry either a Hi power or Colt commander daily, and a go bag travels with me. it has a model 36 and 2 speed loaders along with spare
mags for the semi's.

but, I'm an old fuck who's pissed off more than a few folks and politically outspoken in public forums and have been threatened
a couple of times about my activity..nor can I take a beating and I can't run...

I throw an extra spare mag for the CZ-P09 in my pocket and strap the 642 to my ankle when I travel or go outside of my usual AO.

Why bother?

Just get Fatty to schlep all your extra gear.

Also he can double as cover.

No. Half the time I have no spare mag.

Tried it, it was extra weight that I don't need.

Most days I never leave the house, and when I do it is a short trip. Or, I am carrying a bunch of other stuff. That leaves my 380 in a desantis, almost always. Some days my spidey sense is kicking in and then it is the M&P full size 9 in a CBST. If 17+1 isn't enough I am dead. Really, if the 6+1 of my 380 doesn't get me clear I was not paying attention and did something very stupid.

I already do poorly in high heat and humidity, I don't need the stress.

No, but I have extra magazines and a knife.    The body needs to be rested and too much weight is not a good thing in my opinion. Also, more guns means more responsibility.

I'm a t-shirt cargo shorts guy anyway, I don't know where I'd carry a back up. I already carry one pistol, wallet, phone, Cryo II(good sized knife), pro-tac aaa light, keys, and a leatherman wave on my belt.

I have a Maxpedition EDC pouch thing that is loaded, I don't even like carrying that(If I could find the right neck/shoulder strap combo for it I would though. I need to try a 1 point sling with that. ).

A Ruger LCP or LC9s will quite easily fit in one of your cargo short pockets. Ask me how I know Firearms are man made mechanical devices and either they themselves or the ammo can become faulty at any time so a back up is prudent imo. Also the odd chance you could become disarmed of your primary.

Me too but I carry a Glock 19 on one hip, spare mag on the other and most of the time drop an LCP in a sticky holster into my front pocket. I have no good reason for doing so but it's no extra burden so there's no reason not to.

I have absolutely no reason to do otherwise.

My back up gun is my default every day carry, a glock 42 in my pocket.  If I need to carry the 19, then it goes on the hip and the 42 stays in the pocket.

Seldom, if I feel the need to carry two guns then they'll both be the same size. Like two 1911'S or Hi Powers.

Not often...

When I drove armored cars, I often pocket carried or ankle carried a BUG because I was more concerned about potential disarms.

I can't remember the last time I carried more than one.

I've been considering getting something really tiny for backup use.  Kel-Tec 32 or similar.  Just something to keep on my ankle just in case.  It's no handheld Howitzer but certainly better than NO backup.  It would also be a pistol to throw to someone else if needed.

EDC is Shield or BG380 depending on dress and how lazy I am to put on the tuckable holster for Shield.  Much easier to just throw the BG380 in my pocket on the way out the door.

Cargo pockets with heavy objects tend to bounce around with quite a bit of inertia. I'd gladly carry a backup gun if it was strapped to something instead of bouncing around in a vacuous space like that.

I have before. Carried a Glock 19 IWB and a bodyguard .380 in a pocket holster but I never really saw the need to so I stopped.

Now I still carry IWB and I might add a long gun in my truck but that's about it.
