Looking for a new double stack 9mm, opinions?

Nevermind.

I have had mine for two years; no problems and very comfortable. Would heartily recommend.

I have had several M&P's. The newer Pro's seem to have better triggers but I still prefer Apex FSS triggers. All my M&P's run flawless and I do not see myself getting rid of them. I carry a M&Pc daily and have for a couple of years with no regrets.
Oh and in before the Glock lovers

Stock trigger sucks, but other than that, I enjoy shooting it.

Trigger is better than glock but still shit. Full apex kit us much better but has no reset feel.

[#6]

Newer ones have much better reset and trigger pull in general.

that thing looks like a fucking AR pistol.

I may end up with one this winter for shooting USPSA and such. Its the only striker fired gun I have ever considered. After shooting one in .40 I know it's going to take a while to get used to, but they definitely feel great.

They have terrible triggers.

I have the whole line of M&Ps, and the pro is a great pistol. I don't carry it but its done well for me in comps.

Slap an Apex trigger, Dawson adjustable sights, and a catalyst extended mag release on there and you'll have a fine shootin pistol.

ETA: as everyone else has said, the factory triggers are atrocious, especially the older ones.

I've had mp pro 9L for 2 years and have been very happy

M&P is a solid gun. It's no P320, but still good.

My 9Pro got me through master in esp and ssp (yah yeah... keep your panties on girls).

It's a great gun. The only change I had on mine was the trigger being apexed.. other than than, stock stock.

Good, but the PPQ is better.

I picked one up a month ago, but haven't had a chance to shoot it.
I opted for the Performance Center 5" ported version in 9mm, mainly because it had the PC sear in it. It has a nice trigger for a poly gun.
It's probably on par with the PPQ as far as real feel goes.

Put some Apex trigger parts in it and it will be an entirely new gun.

Good pistol

Buying the Pro model is a waste of time and money…

The factory trigger (even on the Pro) sucks bad…

Buy a standard M&P for as cheap as you can then install
the Apex M&P Aluminum Forward Set Sear and Trigger Kit and RAM and you will
be much better off…

Nice pistols.  The Pro's are the ones to have.

I've had both a 5" 9 and 40. They are the guns I seem to shoot the best for Games. I still perfer a Glock for carry.

Maybe 5 years ago. The whole line is much better now. The Pro has never been "terrible" and that's what he's considering.

Hated my mp9. Got it new this year and sold it for $275. Put only 500 rounds through at 5 foot MOA.

Got an SP01 tactical and have been in love.

The RAM hasn't worked with the newer M&Ps for awhile now. They changed the sear block housing. Again, I think guys are parroting info from a few years back.

The newer triggers are better. Not good, but better. I do agree that APEX parts make them outstanding.

They're too busy being in the other thread in GD where a 1911 guy openly wants a Glock. hawkthederp will be having a field day.

Nice M&P by the way.

Is the P320 Target out already? Could very well be a direct competitor for the M&P9 Pro.

I was an early adopter and have never regretted it. Go Apex and its gtg. Recently purchased a Core pro model and the trigger is much better than stock but not as good as an Apex.

Love my M&P9 Pro. I had it completely worked over by Doug @ ATEi when new. ATEi 3 lb trigger job (I prefer it to APEX), slide cuts, stippling, sights, all of it. 8,000+ rounds later and not one FTF

Edit for spellings

I love mine. Occasionally touch the trigger surfaces with a fine emery cloth to smooth out any grit.

I tried to like the factory trigger on my M&P Pro, but I ended up getting the Apex trigger / sear upgrade.

Supposedly S&W is going to release the next gen M&P line soon, there were some leaks.

I handled a Performance Center core, everything was great including the trigger, except it lacked any discernable reset. Supposedly this can be fixed by adding some oddball part you wouldn't expect, I think it was either an aftermarket mag or slide release

Wonderful pistol. 4.25 or 5" ?

I have the 5 and its easily one of the most accurate pistols I have shot.
