Hey guys. I ran across one of these at the local sporting goods stores and it caught my attention. With me working a lot in the summer I am thinking this would keep my dog entertained during the day. When I come home I play with him till he is wore out. The reviews seem to be good. Does anyone here have one?

I know its not cheap but if it keeps him entertained its worth its weight in gold.

One of my favorite videos on the internet.

I'd get one but my dogs don't really fetch and if they do they never give it back.

Will your dog return it to a machine?

My dog will only return to me. It doesn't matter who threw the ball.

There might be a chance that the dog really want human interaction instead of just fetching a ball. If you get it, I'd love to hear what happens.

My dog will play with a ball by himself, just rolling it around and chasing it or pushing it down a flight of stairs and chasing it. My concern with an automatic launcher with a dog of above average intelligence & game drive would be the dog overworking itself during the 8+ hours that I'm gone during the day. If you do set up one, set it on a timer and only plug it in when you're around.

He wont play with a ball unless you throw it. I guess worst case I get it and if he doesnt use it, re sell it.

It probably depends on your dogs personality. Mine seems to get as much enjoyment out of bringing me something as she did chasing it down.

I think she'd get it once and carry it around until I got home.

A good friend bought a similar product for his crazy ass Boston , I fetch I believe. Anyway this dog would red zone with fetch, he spent a week teaching the dog how to use the machine . The dog went full on happy Gilmore and would drop the ball in the machine and run around , stand directly in front ,inches away and take a full power shot right to the face.... He put the machine away.

My old mutt would push logs down the river bank just so he could bring them back up!   Also in the morning he would get out of the tent to do his business, then go down to the river to just swim and play in the water.   When I got home to the apartment after the weekend I would have to carry him up the steps and he wouldn't leave until I got home the following day after work.  He would hold it per se and just lay on the couch for a day and a half.     The next Saturday morning he would sit by my truck til I was done work and do it all over again.

Mine too, because I think I've got his brother.

He loves to play fetch and if anyone even just says the word "ball" he goes nuts and will run around the house until he finds one and will bring it to you. He's been the best dog I could have ever imagined.

I have a dog that would probably love that thing.

She brings the ball back to whoever threw it, be it me, my 3 year old, or my 1 year old.   Bet she would to that thing too.
