We all know that the country is not what it once was--for the Hillary supporters here, they think it is better, for the rest of us, worse. I, like a lot of others, were for many years refusing to surrender the point that the principles on which the country was founded were dead and gone--that the line had been crossed, and we were on the other side of of the slide from Liberty to progressive nirvana. Then, there was that final straw which broke the camel's back, and you had to admit that we had slipped to the other side. For me, it was the Kelo versus the City of New London decision by the SCOTUS. https://www.cga.ct.gov/2005/rpt/2005-R-0560.htm I was dumbfounded that was possible, and when it finally sunk in, I could no longer believe. And don't bother saying it was Trump winning the nomination, as if that was your last straw moment, you are either too young to vote, or have really not been paying attention. |
