Cookout singlehandedly kept me from starving to death during college.

When we go visit the in-laws in NC, there is one next to the hotel we stay at.  Freakin love it.

Hamburgers actually taste like they came off a grille in my back yard. Toppings are fresh and taste like hand picked from the garden.. Their hushhpuppies are the shit too

They're a godsend to the nightshift here since they don't close until 3am.

Decent food, good prices. I like them.

I love that place. Two hot dogs with a side of chili and chicken nuggets, and three extra drinks. Cheap-o way to feed a family of four.

Went once and was not impressed, and the PA system they had to call order pickups was fucking terrible.

How can you dislike a restaurant t that lets you choose a corn dog as a side item?!?  Also, the burgers are excellent for the price.  Went many times when I lived in Durham, NC.

Yup.

They put one close to me a few years ago. Tastes more real than typical fast food.

Their milkshakes are the best I've ever had.

The cook out style dogs are good. Their fries are salty as fuck. The shakes are to thick to drink (but good). The cook outs around here are very close to hate chicken locations so I usually go there instead.

was a gm of cook out in the charlotte market, worst job i ever had.  got paid an insane amount of money to work for them but it was not worth it.  the fights, shootings, car wrecks, robberies, oh the stories i could tell.  still eat at one every now and again, cause it's right down the road and $5 gets you a lot of food.

Fuck yes. Cookout and Rockstars are my 0230 study fuel. Fill that bag with small burgers and hushpuppies!

Their shakes are great, a bit expensive though. Their burgers suck.

Moved from NC to TX in 2010, I still miss them every week.  My hometown was $3.99 and where I lived 20 miles away it was $4.25.  Still an awesome deal for what you got.

Two Cajun chicken wraps, a Cajun gripped chicken sandwich and a huge sweet tea was a cheap and yummy meal.

They NEED to expand at least through the Rockies. Several Cookout visits are always among the highlights of any visit to family and friends back in VA.
