What do you all use for a range bag? Looking for something durable with a little more organization than a backpack

Thats all I am using now, a back pack. For the last 15 years or so I have used a dillion range bag that is starting to fall apart. I was looking at the cheap ones it walmart the other day. Cheap bags were cheap

I have a bag from WRB. Made in Texas. Load that thing down every trip and haven't had any problem with it. Lifetime warranty IIRC

I got a Samsonite carry on bag at the Goodwill for $2.  Works great.

I was using an MC star VISM bag for about a year. Lots of room and places to put things. It has MOLLE to hang shit too. Sure it was a cheap $40 bag, but it was a no e bag. Then a few weeks ago my buddy put 15 rounds of .223 through it on accident.

So now I'm sporting a GPS Outdoor Rolling Range Bag. Much larger and nicer than the NC Star that I was using.

This is the one you want.  The NRA bag I bought got sent back, it was a POS.

Tool bag from Lowes or Home Depot
Zipper top, pockets all around the inside to organize small items
Shoulder strap

I shoot at home, so I don't take a bunch of stuff. I use one of those cheap condor bags from ebay. Zipper pulls are weak, but easily fixed.

A lot of recommendations for the Midwest bag. It looks very similar to the 5.11 Range Ready bag. Is the 5.11 worth the extra $20 or so?

And they hold up well considering their price point.  I've been using a LAPG Bailout bag for several years.  The advantage of a smaller bag is it lessens the temptation to cart 50# of crap around.

Same for the Midway bags.

This. The LAPG bailout bag is a good choice on a per-gun basis.  The Wolf and Midway bags are nicer for multiple handguns, or for carrying a more extensive set of gear.

I use a Hazard 4 Spotter.  It's good but could stand to be a little bigger.  It doesn't come with a shoulder strap.

It's well made at least.

My wife was into that "31" bullshit for a while a couple of years ago.  She was ordering left and right, so I told her while she was pissing our money way, get me the gayest range-type bag possible.

She followed through.

There's a wire frame sewn into the opening of the bag, keeping it open all the time.  Several pockets on the side, and I dropped a piece of plywood in the bottom to keep it rigid.  Love it.

I tend to use tool boxes.  I have a few with stuff for specific disciplines:  Benchrest box, airgun box, handgun box, centerfire rifle box, etc.

I did too but the stitching for one of the handles failed after about a year.
Heaviest thing I carried in it was a pair of shoes.

I use the my free NRA bag even though everything about it is crap. Been looking for a new bag for a while just don't feel like spending moola

I put everything in a big blue Rubbermaid tub with a snap on cover if it's going to be a big day with lots of different guns and ammo.

Most of the time I just put the ammo, mags and targets into the same gun case my guns go into if it's just a couple rifles/pistols.

The only thing is that the zipper pulls suck. If you got paracord hanging around it's an easy fix.

Midway large bag.  It will hold several pistols, ammo, ears and eyes and targets no problem.  Actually it's easy to make too heavy.

This.   Their Range Ready bag.  Got it on sale for half price at PSA years ago.  Great bag.  Lots of compartments and very tough.

5.11 range ready bag. Got it cheap from PSA a few years ago during their Black Friday sale. I really like it.

A few weeks later, I bought my dad the Midway USA range bag. Got a great deal on it too.   It's almost exactly the same as the 5.11 bag, but the Midway bag came with 2 pistol cases as well as the removable inner tote and brass bag.  It's a great bag as well.
