Being lefty I've gotten used to the standard AR bolt catch. I figure there has to be better ones out there.
Anybody have any experiences with them? BAD levers and such need not apply. The Strike Industries one looks pretty good. The DPMS one looks interesting to say the least. And the Wilson one looks like a damn tennis racket. |

BAD levers aren't cool anymore?! Damnit! They were never cool. They induce malfunctions. As for releases, KAC, Mega, CMT all make lowers with ambi releases that work well. If you just want a fancier regular one, yeah Forward Control Design makes nice stuff. |

My BAD levers must be broken, because I have them on 4 rifles, and they've never induced a malfunction nor failed me. Do I need to send them back and get some that properly induce malfunctions? I put a Forward Controls Design ABC/R Augmented Bolt Catch/Release (Forged) on my Glock-compatible (but not BAD-compatible) 9mm AR, and it works very well. |

I put a Seekins enhanced bolt catch on one of my AR's and it didn't work at all. Took it off and inspected to find burrs around the roll pin hole. Deburred and reinstalled and it still seemed to be in a bind. Took it off and noticed sharp edges and machining marks in the surface. Sanded and polished and reinstalled. Still not functioning. Took it off and tried on another gun and then tossed it in the parts drawer. What a piece of shit. E-mails early on before sanding and polishing were answered with a "can't be a problem with a Seekins product" tone. Cheap enough lesson, notes taken. |

Good for you, I bet your AKs don't jam either. Meanwhile, In real life, adding BADs causes all kinds of issues with various mags and most people end up taking them off and throw them away very quickly. |

I'd rather you call me a fag. Four carbine courses without a single malf. Heavy-duty 3-gun on my other rifle, not a single malf. What's your definition of real life? Or, are you one of those guys who says "My experience = everyone's experience?" OMG. Are you God? |

I have enhanced bolt catches on two of my rifles and I like them. I wanted a larger "button" to lock the bolt back. The release wasn't the problem, but the catch on a standard was so small I had to feel around for it. I have two different brands, but at the moment I can't remember what I bought |
