Took the kids and some of their friends to see The Purge.   Holy heck the whole movie sucked.   Five minutes into the movie.   My son says.   "Dad, this movie is BAD...As in it SUCKS!"

Are there tracer bullets in the movie?

The body guard guy gets shot by one of the bad guys.   Then they get followed by a helicopter.  Body guard guy discovers that he was shot with a "tracer bullet"  So he digs it out of his chest and it has a tracking device on the bullet.   Stupid.

Maybe,   I know that we didn't expect to see a cinematic masterpiece.    But.   It was a pretty bad movie.

Way back in 1991 I spoke with the CEO of a company that made power supplies for the ground approach radars in artillery shells. He said they were tested to 20,000 Gs. Given the current state of miniaturization, a bullet with a radio source is not all that far-fetched.
