i have a mother of a question about licensed software. When i was active duty in Japan i got a full copy of office 2010 through the deal of $30 on a military email address. it is on my old laptop that is 7 years old. I no longer have the military address , so cant verify for a fresh install. My wife is starting college again in the fall and wanted a new laptop to do homework. i did try to in stall on my desktop and it wanted verification. is there any way to get the working copy on my laptop to work on hers without the old required email address?

I have had similar situations. Find the serial number. There is a way to do it in Office. Then call Microsoft, tell them your issue and give them the serial number. Whenever I did that, they verified the number and I was GTG in 15 minutes.

Looks like you can at least recover the serial with the free version. I've always used it to find my windows product key.
