Right now my drive takes about 15 minutes on clear drives, 20-25 minutes with traffic.

Considering a new job that will be 25 minutes on a clear drive, and 30-35 with traffic.

That's starting to get long for me. I need to decide if a better job is worth an extra 20-30 minutes per day in the car.

About 27 miles. Traffic on 40 is a bitch.

Edit: TIME of commute is very traffic dependent. It usually takes me between 30 and 45 minutes to get to work / home in rush hour traffic. Off peak times about 2/3 of that usually.

1.5 miles from doorstep to gate, fastest route through a neighborhood.  1.1 miles shortest distance but two traffic lights adds a few minutes.

12 miles. Between 15 and 45 mins. Moving this year further out but on a better route.

A mile and a half to my shop.  I never worked more than 5 miles from home my entire life and I'm almost 50 years old.

35 miles coming home.

More fun on a motorcycle.

But in two weeks or so, I'll be moving closer to work. Something like 5 miles one way.

42 miles. 42 minutes. I live right off an interstate exit in nowhere cornland. it's 75mph almost door to door.

16 miles each way.

Ironically, my RX7 gets 16 miles per gallon on average, so 8 gallons gets me through a 4 day work week.

I ride my bicycle 8 blocks to work daily as long as it isn't raining.  Snow/sleet/ice/hot/cold are find but I don't want to get wet

Less than 5 miles. About a 15 minute drive down local streets. How the 5 stoplights go in my favor or not dictates 10 or 15 minute drive

I would drive my car into a telephone pole (or an underpass) if I had to do that for more than a week.

64 miles each way because i had to get the fuck out of the city.. so an hour tops.

It was much shorter distance(14 miles), but it still took 45 minutes to an hour anyway on heavy traffic days.
Now I get to drive home through the mountains instead.

If I'm going to office about an hour drive , 35 miles.  That doesn't typically happen and I leave my house at 6am and normally get on office at 10

My gay-ass Lexus hybrid has averaged 40.1 mpg since I've owned it.  It'll stay on EV mode and the gas motor won't even run for most of my 1.5 mile commute if I go easy.  I could probably commute to work and back all year on a tank of gas.  But I don't drive to work every day.

I live exactly 15 miles from door to door from my work.  With absolutely no traffic I can get to work in about 18 minutes.  During the week its usually between 20 and 30 minutes, mostly near 30 minutes.  At least a couple of times a week there is an accident on the freeway so it takes me about 40 minutes.

I live about a mile and a half from work.  Having commuted over an hour for years while living in California, I am very glad to have a short commute.

50 feet to the shop  or 3/10's of a mile to the fire station......  I put 300 miles on the car, 400 miles on the pick-up last year

130 miles round trip.  If I'm lucky it takes about 55 minutes from driveway to driveway.  On a bad day it can take an hour and a half or more.

When I worked, it was between 5-10 miles. I could get to work by freeway, or several surface routes. Freeway was the longest distance but usually, the shortest time. The surface routes were scenic and relaxing. The freeway was anything but scenic and relaxing.

Now, I'm retired and I take the bus (my workplace was also my healthcare provider, and now, it's no longer my workplace but still is my healthcare provider). 35 cents each way for us senior citizens.

I would kill myself if forced to do that.

This job opportunity would be a great upgrade and make me happier at work, but adding an extra 20-30 minutes per day has me seriously considering turning it down.

Did 25 years working at the house. Now I drive 100 miles each way, it's exactly 1-1/2 hours all interstate except for 2 miles at the start and 1/4 mile at the end.

24 miles

1:20ish by bicycle
30ish minutes by car. Maybe 5-10 less this time of year with the snowbirds gone and school out of session. All freeway.

13 miles each way, depending on traffic the drive can be anywhere from 17 minutes to 45 minutes.

I was MUCH happier with my 10 minute commute that changed one year ago tomorrow.
(but it's worth it)
