The kids and other half swear they didn't download anything, but who knows. I use cable modem via router, and my laptop works fine. I have tried swapping ports and cables, restarting everything, you name it. When I go to restart, i get a message saying taht the program eglEClientCommandWnd is not respond, it may be busy yadda yadda yadda. Never got taht before this started, but I cannot find this program to disable it or remove it. HELP!!!!! |

ok, go to START, RUN, type taskmgr.exe then OK. near the top in the center there will be a button that says CPU click that to orient the top % processes. report back what the top 2 or 3 processes are ant their % of cpu usage. [This might be a long shot but You may have to rebuild your PC, sorry.] |

Check your available resources. Right click on my computer>>properties>>performance. Check your running tasks. Goto Run>>msinfo32. Under System information, Expand Software Environment>>Running Tasks. Report what is there. Are you running a firewall on that computer?? If so, disable it to see if that helps. |

I wanted you to download the IE 6.0 because when you will try to re-install it- it will give you a repair option. could you D/L IE6 on your laptop and burn it on a cd and put that in your PC? ACK I just remmenbered!!!! You dont need to re-download it! just do this. Go to START, Settings, Control Panel, ADD/Remove programs. there scroll down to the program Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, select it and hit Change/Remove. It should ask you if you want to remove it or repair it, choose repair. restart. s |
| If you'r running 98se,try this.Go to start.Click on start.Scroll up to programs.Click on accesories.Scrol down to system tools.Scrol down to system information.Click on that.Click on the tools tab.Scroll to I\E repair tool. There you will have the option of repairing I\E.If still unsuccesful, try restoring it to a previous I\E configuration that was working previously.Their are many very useful tools for various troubleshooting,in this area.Lastly,if these efforts fail,I would strongly suggest, borrowing a NortonSystem2000 disc.Install the disk in your pc.You'll get a prompt. Then run the utilities from the disk.Such as windoctor.I hope theese suggestions will be of some help. |

Ya, the next thing would be to Re-install IE, theres an 80% chance that would work. if that no workie, you must re-format and re-install Windows. Sorry, I gotta go. Wish we could have fixed it. Edited to add; dont go with WinMe again, I played with it a couple of years ago and had similar problems. Try Win2k- the most stable of the WinX's |

I don't use any progs to get rid of the adware/spyware. But, there are some people here that can help you out on which is better. The big problem with your situation is that you can't get on the internet to DL the progs. As far as the mostat.exe, here is how you can remove it manually: Description An IE browser helper object that detects visits to known sites and redirects them through a third-party server in order to take the affiliate fees. WurldMedia even steals the fees from other webmasters when you use their own links. WurldMedia/Mo and WurldMedia/Moaa. The BHO is renamed mo030414s.dll or moaa030425s.dll and has new ID; the mscstat process is renamed mostat.exe and there is a configuration program called moconfig.exe. Before you can delete the DLL, you will need to deregister it. Open a DOS command prompt window (from Start->Programs->Accessories) and enter for the Mo variant: cd "%WinDir%\System" regsvr32 /u mo030414s.dll Or, for the Moaa variant: cd "%WinDir%\System" regsvr32 /u moaa030425s.dll After restarting the computer, you should be able to delete the DLL from the System folder (inside the Windows folder, called 'System32' under Windows NT/2000/XP or 'System' under Windows 95/98/Me). In you have Mo or Moaa variants, you should delete 'mostat.exe', 'moconfig.exe' and 'moz02NNNNNN.de'. Finally, there is also a key called 'morp' in the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software in the registry which you can delete to clean up if you like. |

I highly doubt that you need to wipe the HD and reload Windows. First thing that you need to do is find some way to get rid of this adware/spyware. Like I was talking about earlier, I don't know if the new progs can ID this new mostat.exe, so you will prob have to remove it manually. The others can be removed with software. I am almost certain that this mostat.exe was installed with morpheus. |

ME doesn't like 60,60 is for XP or above! I had same problem with ME and 60,run 4.7 or 5 or above ! ME is still better than 98SE as it provides more drivers, but with ME I still can't DEFRAG! With 98SE I still could DEFRAG! It's just not on the tools function of ME! Bob [:D] |
