The roots seem interconnected and spread like crazy. They produce a bean about 2 inches long 3/8 thick

When you say bean, is it a pod with the stringy fibers/seeds inside?

It does look like milkweed. It attracts Monarch butterflies. It is essential for them to reproduce.
With the other flowers you have it will attract butterfly.

I searched milk weed. Its not that. I don't know if I have opened one of the pods.
