| I have been watching NASCAR since I was a kid, but today's NASCAR is nothing but a money grubbing, commercial laden shit show. I am watching about 6 minutes of racing for every 2 minutes of commercials. Fuck NASCAR. It used to be fun, but I'd rather be at the pool than watch all these damn commercials. Good God, the producers have to be laughing at how many commercials are being aired. |

| I would say don't waste your Sunday afternoon on NASCAR. Watch the race on youtube next week without the commercials - but - you still have to put up with NASCAR's bullshit. Last week they ran a 20 lap fucking caution because NASCAR was confused about the starting positions. |

I agree. If it were production chaise cars, with factory block and head engines I would be 1000x more interested, you know a lot more like it once was. That's why I like to watch GT & circuit racing, tends to be highly modified production cars. You were army weren't you. |

NASCAR has gone the way of country music - commercial, corporate, glistening eyes turned towards Hollyweird and being "mainstream." This. Knew when every race ended up with a carnival atmosphere that it would be spiraling downward. They've also micromanaged and tweaked the rules to death, plus not listened to their long time fans. I liked it much better when it was still primarily a southern sport. |

Restrictor plates suck.
Aerodynamic restrictions suck. someone gets 10 seconds ahead of the pack, and suddenly their throwing yellow flags for a piece of candy bar wrapper that blew onto the track drivers who don't have a chance to win crashing out with two laps to go when the leader all but has it wrapped up.. nascar: professional wrestling of professional racing Jay |
