Finally shot one, and loved it. I can shoot it better than my G19.

So, anyone have any issues with em? $600 OTD a decent price?
4/7/2016 9:03:30 PM EDT
[#1]
Haven't shot a VP9 personally, but if it's the same quality as the HK's I have shot in the past, that seems like a fair price for a quality CCW gun.

How important are cocking ears to you?
4/7/2016 9:04:34 PM EDT

I like mine.

Just don't smash it against steel targets and it's GTG.

4/7/2016 9:08:22 PM EDT
[#4]
I don't know why I waited so long to shoot HK's...They have me regretting a lot of purchases I have made in the past.

I'm about to buy a VP9 as well as a USP Compact 9.

Check out prepper gun shop, they always have some good deals.

Cocking "ears" can easily be removed if you don't like them. I installed a match trigger kit from HKParts.net in mine and it's fantastic. I paid $550 when they first came out. $600 isn't bad IMHO. YMMV

They are essential for powercharging.

I've been hearing, "spongey triggers, spongey triggers" for years, and I was shooting a ragged hole with the first mag. Wider sight picture seemed to work better for me as well. [shrug]

I bought the VP9 and the Sig P320C within a week of each other.

Both are good guns but I gave the VP9 to the wife.

I've only had mine about 6 weeks, but it's been flawless through 2k rounds.  I'm shooting it better than the Sigs I've had for years.

It's my new carry and gamer gun.

ETA: the Cocking ears are awesome when wearing gloves.

Best pistol I've ever shot.

The VP9 is unarguably the finest striker fired handgun made.

For concealed carry the p30sk is unarguably the finest concealed carry handgun made.

Facts are facts.

4/7/2016 9:19:56 PM EDT
[#15]
What makes it so significantly cheaper than other HK pistols, is a striker fired gun that much easier to produce? The P30 is almost twice as much.

It's more expensive, but it's certainly not almost twice as expensive.

I can find the P30L/P30S for $800 and the VP9 for $580 from the same place.

You got a link to the broad strokes?

That's certainly not the case for test done on the P2000, HK45, or P30.

Love my VP9! I have shot about 2k rounds through it and have never had a single issue.
4/7/2016 9:35:53 PM EDT
[#23]
A friend has one - I really like it.  I definitely shoot it well.  He has not had any issues with it, that I've heard about at least.
4/7/2016 9:44:48 PM EDT
[#25]
I have both the VP9 and P30. And the texture of the grip is differen't between the two, I want to say there's some VERY minor details that lean towards the p30 being better built.  I tried my friend's VP9 and didn't like it, but then tried another one, and liked it a little more. Now I have grown fond of my vp9.

I love mine and EDC it. I had a stipple job done, TiN coated barrel, 10-8 rear sight and Dawson precision front sight put on. The 10-8 rear sight has a slightly narrower base and it caused an issue with the cocking ears coming off if pushed in just the right way. I ended up super gluing them in place. I haven't touched the trigger on it as it's pretty decent from the factory. The gun is laser accurate and has not missed a beat. I shoot it at least 2-4x a month and I let it go 800 rounds or so without cleaning and no issues. All around great gun and probably the best ergos of anything I've ever shot.

If I was not so heavily invested in Glocks, magazines and holsters I'd get a VP9.

Palmetto state has them for $550 shipped as their daily deal. As long as you don't have a dealer charging a ridiculous transfer fee, you should be a bit under $600.

When, and if, they come out with a VP9sk, would that change your opinion? Assuming, of course, that VP9 is to VP9sk as the P30 is to the P30sk.

MAC's test was a fraud.

This nobody just proved it and got it even more muddier and dirtier than MAC. And MAC is a member here, he has yet to come down and discuss this video that proved that either MAC's VP9 was rigged to fail or he had a defective one.

Either way, MAC is now irrelevant to me now and not to be trusted ever again to be fair and impartial.

Take note that this VP9 did not suck ass.

I've enjoyed my VP9.

I had a P30 Light LEM for a long time and shot it well, but it didn't compare to how well I can shoot the VP9.  Sold the P30.

I still have a P30LS LEM that I'm trying to decide if I want to keep or not.

What holster and position? I CCW mine Spring, Fall, and Winter, but can't pull it off in the summer or anytime I can't wear a jacket. I'm a thin guy and normally carry at the 3:30-4 o'clock position, but without a jacket the grip prints. Appendix is the only position I have been able to conceal it without a jacket, but I don't like that position at all. Bladetech Eclipse is the holster I am using.

That's the way it happens....they are really, really good handguns. I got into them around '00 and haven't looked back. I now have many other manufacturers guns that are also great, but the HK are always excellent

When he's been asked to explain these other tests that worked and he doesn't message back and I can see that he's seen the messages, that tells me all I need to know. Fraud. Deal with it, because running away when challenged is the signs of it being a fraud.

My VP9 is my favorite of all my past/present carry pieces, and I've had a lot of the better options. The first range trip it outshot my Glock 19 that I had TONS of practice with. It only got better from there. I feel like I can't miss with it, it's a freaking laser, and has handled the cheapest lowest end ammo I could find that made my 19 choke more than not. I can't praise my example snough.

Now if they'd only get on that VP9SK.
