Okay...was thinking about SBRing a couple of AR15s and a CZ Evo III.  Got a question for you guys.

Even with a Form 1 (for the SBR), and you have a retractable stock for the AR15 and a folding stock for the CZ---

Do you measure overall length with the stock retracted/folded?   What if it's under 26" total?  I still thought you couldn't
SBR something that was still under 26 total inches?  This might be problematic for the EVO III Scorpion, if you measured it with the
stock folded, as it would still be under 26" total, correct?

Fuck me...this is getting retarded to try to research.  The Google-Fu is weak, this morning.

So are you in violation of the fucking NFA if you ever choose to fold the damned stock, or only when the gun is being fired?
What would you list on the Form 1?  Maybe length (folded); length (unfolded)?

On the length you write down what the gun measure with the stock fully (all the way out) extended, that is its overall length. It does not matter how short it is when its fully collapsed/folded.

No, not in violation if its shorter when folded. The only length you write down is the overall, fully extended length.

No. OAL is measured with the stock extended, but you are free to adjust or fold the stock as you wish.

The 26" OAL requirement is for long guns to NOT be NFA items. IE: A rifle with a 16" barrel but only 25.5" long is still an NFA item. If it's a registered SBR, you can configure it in any length you want. There is no minimum.

Has to be fully extended.  There is no verbiage discriminating between collapsable stocks and, say, side folders, which have 2 positions -- fully open, or fully closed.  As such, the overall length is with whatever stock is attached being in the fully extended position.

ETA:  You can collapse a stock thereafter.

OAL is with stock fully extended and any non-permanent muzzle devices removed.
