I'm replacing my S5 tomorrow and have narrowed it down to the Note 5 or S7. The ability to write notes is appealing to me.

Any first hand experience with either?

Many think the stylus is a novelty and most stop using it after a month or two.

I think the Note is the best phone I have ever owned/used.  I still have my Note 3 and don't see myself upgrading anytime soon.  It has been flawless, and the stylus features do come in handy quite often.

I picked note 5.
Bigger screen, I like the stylus and use it daily.
Also don't like the edge
Also my note just got marshmallow

I have an S7 non-Edge and I love it so far.
The Note has always seemed too large for me, wouldn't want to carry that around all the time.

LG G5.

Replaceable battery, cartridge style add ons.  And they keep android up to date like a boss.

Samsung sucks, their hardware is unreliable, they are slow to update, and their bloatware is absurd.

I'd get an iPhone before another Samsung.

This. Before I pulled the trigger on the Note 3 I researched a bit. While the 4 would have been my pick, I could justify the extra coin over the 3 for what I needed.

The 5 has a few drawbacks. If I remember correctly no usb3, no removable battery.

Have note 3.  Held off on note 5 due to non removable memory.  Note 6  they going back to removable memory (S7 has now also).  Large screen phones not that big of a deal when they are as thin as they have become.

If you can wait till July then get Note 6.  If you must replace now get S7

That's a nicely thought out phone. My Note3 has been a great phone and I'm reluctant to change it but the G5 looks awesome.

I do like LG's double tap feature and did spend a week double tapping my note when I changed. Lol

I've used an Iphone since 07', a few months ago I switched to a Note 5, and I like it.  You get use to the size very fast, and it makes the screen so much more useful.  I actually don't hate going online on it.  I also like the stylus and use it consistently.

The quick note application is nice for jotting down info on the fly.

I updated from an S5 to an S7 Edge a couple days ago and am liking it so far.  I've never had a Note or used one so I can't comment on that.

My S5 was the best smartphone I have ever owned.  Had it for 2.5 years without a single issue.

Don't get an LG phone.  They suck and their customer service is horrible.

Also thinking about switching to the note.  The stylus is interesting.

I had a Note 3, my sister upgraded and gave me her Note 4, and my wife has a Note 2 and upgraded to a Note 5.

I would highly recommend the Note. The stylus is really useful.

I had an LG G4.  It had a factory defect that causes a boot loop and there was a warranty recall.  About a week after I'd got the phone, I had dropped it from hip height while in a full case that covered the screen.  It still developed a small, thin crack in the screen protector, about 3/4 of an inch long, near the corner.  I hadn't bothered to fix it because it was so small.  When I sent the phone in for the boot loop warranty fix, they REFUSED to fix the warranty issue unless and until I paid them $160 to replace the screen (which is about twice what it costs around here to get it fixed if I were so inclined.)  I took it up the ladder as far as I could with no joy.  So I got the useless piece of shit phone back still not working and used my daughter's old iPhone 5C until the Galaxy S7 came out.

I'll never buy another LG anything.

I went with the S7 because of the expwndable memory, better camera and smaller size.

My Note 3 is a beast, gets wet, dropped,  squished, etc...no probs at all. I may get the Note 6 but no hurry. I lol..every iPhone I see, of which the wife and 2 teens have 6S..the screens Crack if you look at them wrong.
