In it's original configuration those pointed ends were lobed and dull. The story was that the law was passed to prevent spoilage way back before refrigeration and ice chests were common. It carried over until at least the '70s that I know of. Back when I was a teenager in South Louisiana in the '70s we used those and special nets to catch frogs. After I entered the military and moved away, the law was updated to the current status. |
