| Is there a way to tell if a guy is a legit former scrolled Ranger, kinda like Shipley does with SEALs, etc? There's a guy around here that I think might just be full of shit. |
|
OK, I checked it out. Is there a list of former Rangers on there somewhere that I missed? |

Ask him what class he went through -- Class#, I don't know that. who was his ranger buddy I don't know what that faggotry is at all. In fact, the motto of the 1/75th wasn't Sua Sponte, it was "Why be a buddy, when you can be a buddy fucker?" Ask him for the Ranger Creed -- Sure, it goes, "Never will I share my cookie bar, and frankly, you can go fuck yourself, Private..." Ask him for the CO's name, and 1st Sgt of his company -- Rangers would know these things, and there are ways to check, although I can't tell you where now. I think the CO was Price. He showed up a week after me. Fuck me if I can remember more than 5 or 6 guy's names. I remember Garst, because that cunt got caught with pyro in his trunk and threw Alderman under the bus, and Alderman went to Leavenworth for a few years for the stunning amount of shit he had. I can't remember the name of the asshole who got drunk and talked two other guys into stealing jeeps from the motor pool for a late night ride through the woods. I remember SGT Pfeffer beating a GCM, but getting booted anyway for multiple DUIs. |

Not a surefire way to tell though. Most of them are insane. I know I was. Leaving that place was like eating a bucket of Prozac. And to think I wanted to be a Ranger too. Right up until I got a DUI and Field Grade Art15 for missing recall. I skated out of Bragg with an honorable discharge by the skin of my teeth! I do know the class number I was supposed to attend. 94-08 and I have no clue what faggotry the "Ranger Buddy" shit is supposed to be. Is that like a battle buddy that holds your hand and gives you a hug when a Drill Sergeant yells at you? |

If asked I would purposely make up wild shit and names. Then when I got called out would make you look like an ass with shit only people that have been there done that would know. Ive seen others do it and its funny as fuck. |

Good stuff above, I caught one one time by asking him did he remember the little bar outside the gate called Earls. He said yes, I said your full of shit. First there is no such place I made it up, second you get no time off at that course. |

SOCNET.com Armyranger.com Read the rules before you post anything over there. Why do you think he might be full of shit? Dedicated posers are going to know answers to any mickey mouse question you might ask. Or at least know enough to fool you. Ask me my class number and I'd tell you 15-84. Does that mean anything to you? Now me, not being a poser would qualify that answer by telling you that my RIP class number was 15-84 but if you didn't know any better you'd assume it was my Ranger School class number which I did not attend. [RIP is now known as RASP btw]. |
| Not related but just a question for our resident Rangers. Difference between a tab and a scroll ?? Is Ranger a requirement for SF or is it the other way around. Always see those tabs together for the most part. My hat's off to you guys - no fucking way I would have lasted through the selection process. Thank you for your service. |

The scroll is the unit patch for the 75th Ranger Regiment, with is part of USSOCOM. The tab is what you get when you graduate from Ranger School, which is a difficult course that is attended by a variety of people from various units in the Army, along with members of other branches. Most everyone that stays in the Ranger Regiment long enough goes to Ranger School, which is why you often see them together. |

(brother and his buddy put one vehicle in the RS parking lot, left a second one at the IOBC barracks, so they had wheels for those couple of breaks at the end of phases when they were supposed to be doing their laundry and such). |

The guy that I found served from 09/19/1995 to 09/02/1997 with an "under honorable conditions) and a developmental separation code. Separated as an E-2. |

We had a few guys in my old battalion 3/504th that were sent there too. We had one of them go back to Ranger School, pass, came back to pack up his shit and went to 2nd Battalion in Ft Lewis. He was always a little off. Cool guy and all, knew his shit, but just a little "off". |

not sure why people care about this crap. This guy has misrepresented himself already. Figured the Ranger thing would be BS, too. There was a guy mentioned here a few weeks ago who was claiming service with 2/75, and a bunch of other crap that was easily seen through, but passing himself off as a firearms instructor, Blackwater contractor, and running training down in Texas. He was talking about he is "devastating at 300yds" with a Glock, as he went over his pristine plate carrier with another guy on a youtube video. Claim you're a Navy SEAL, worst thing to happen is that Shipley will stop by your work and dime you out. Claim you were in Ranger Regiment? It could go a lot of ways, but none of them will be good. Poseurs need to stick to the Navy SEAL front. It's safer, and there are plenty of books they can read to fantasize about their exploits through, since half of the material in almost every SEAL book is BS anyway. |
