LOL You clearly don't understand how this works. I can get gigabit speeds for like $100 per month. Should I then only pay $10 for 100Mbps? Fuck...Yes!!! Edit: but honestly I do understand there is equipment and all but I would still expect more drop off in price. |

Sure, the fiber/copper plant and required equipment are free, right? It's not like it costs us a certain amount to get you any service at all, right? Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile So you are saying that the internet fee to bring me twice the internet off the backbone from whoever they purchase their allotted bandwidth from is only $10 more? Edit: $5 more because I figure there is a 100% markup. |

I Pay $5 for 100Mbps. Also get free VOD, and all channels incl premiums. I had a friend in high schools who's dad worked for cable one. We would all go over and watch the "premium" channels every week. |

I have Time Warner here and Im at $80 bucks for 50 mbps and its always all over the place. 44 to 64mbps on back to back tests, with pings from 94-104 I also can get my nat type opened back up on XBOX one. Have called TW, xbox and my router company. |

I have time warner at home, it is absolute shit. $65 for internet, I'm luck if I get 7mb down and 1mb up at work we have version, its 150mb up and down for the same price as what I pay at home 9/10 it's your wifi causing the slow speed. try hardwiring a pc or laptop to your modem w/ ethernet. Almost guarantee you will get full speed. Look into changing wifi channel to help speed up the wifi or get a nice router like a nighthawk. |

We just moved into this house in august, I updated everything, all the Ethernet is cat6, and all the hardware in the house supports cat6 speed. |

I pay $37/mo and comcast just tripled my speed to 90mbs/unlimited. I'd happily pay $10/mo for 20mbs though.. |

I'm baffled at how much companies are charging. I have comcast which has been reliable but they are charging me $65 for ~90Mbps with a 350GB cap. I call Att to see what they can do for me since I have Directv and the promise to combine and save! and their pricing structure is $65 for 45Mbps and $55 for 24Mbps... That makes absolutely no sense to me. It should be half that price because I'm getting half the speed. I know I should be happy that I get high speed internet at all and in before everyone that lives in BFE and has to use hugnet or whatever but this if fucking ridiculous! Its a fucking racket! And just because I haven't seen one of these thread in a while: http://www.speedtest.net/result/5150862731.png A Chevy sonic drives half the speed as a Lamborghini, should it be half the price? Two different companies, two different technologies, two different prices. |

I'm sitting on major fiber routes. Location matters, geography matters, density matters. All of these affects pricing structures. I'm surprised you aren't pissed because some pay less for milk than you or less for a tank of gas. |

I have Satellite for my television and Verizon for my cell service. OP, call comcast up and tell them you're changing the service to XXXwhomeverXXX they will transfer you to the "retention department" where they will give you the REAL deal to keep you.. I've been a DirecTV customer for over 14 years, every 18 months they jack up the prices and I have to call them and threaten to leave so they give me the "good price".. I pay $50/mo for directv (with show/hbo/stars) I pay $37 for cable modem I pay $52 for my cellphone service. |
