I'm baffled at how much companies are charging. I have comcast which has been reliable but they are charging me $65 for ~90Mbps with a 350GB cap. I call Att to see what they can do for me since I have Directv and the promise to combine and save! and their pricing structure is $65 for 45Mbps and $55 for 24Mbps... That makes absolutely no sense to me. It should be half that price because I'm getting half the speed. I know I should be happy that I get high speed internet at all and in before everyone that lives in BFE and has to use hugnet or whatever but this if fucking ridiculous! Its a fucking racket!

I have Time Warner here and Im at $80 bucks for 50 mbps and its always all over the place. 44 to 64mbps on back to back tests, with pings from 94-104 I also can get my nat type opened back up on XBOX one. Have called TW, xbox and my router company. |

9/10 it's your wifi causing the slow speed. try hardwiring a pc or laptop to your modem w/ ethernet. Almost guarantee you will get full speed. Look into changing wifi channel to help speed up the wifi or get a nice router like a nighthawk. |

We just moved into this house in august, I updated everything, all the Ethernet is cat6, and all the hardware in the house supports cat6 speed. |

I'm sitting on major fiber routes. Location matters, geography matters, density matters. All of these affects pricing structures. OP, call comcast up and tell them you're changing the service to XXXwhomeverXXX they will transfer you to the "retention department" where they will give you the REAL deal to keep you.. I've been a DirecTV customer for over 14 years, every 18 months they jack up the prices and I have to call them and threaten to leave so they give me the "good price".. I pay $50/mo for directv (with show/hbo/stars) I pay $37 for cable modem I pay $52 for my cellphone service. |

I'm actually in a contract with direct so they don't care if I leave, I would have to pay to get out. |
