Last month it was put out at drill that portions of our unit were likely to be mobilized for a 12 month mission in the near future.  No further details.

I didn't think much about it then because I've been stuck in billet that I'm not MOS-Q'd for and the state has held up school due to funding issues.

Today I get a note that previously scheduled weapons quals are cancelled and everybody needs to bring paperwork to complete SRP in 2 days.

For people who have been through the mobilization process, should I be getting spun up about this? Is there any chance I could be deployed
without being qualified for the billet I'm occupying?

Probably just an exercise.

Any commander would go for the MOSQ personnel first.  That said, he'll also want the competent personnel, and that's not always the same as MOSQ.
If you're concerned, go ask the 1 shop if you're on the battle roster.

No idea about the guard but we checked our NTC/JRTC box by jumping in and playing in the woods for two weeks before we deployed. Anything is possible.

I have no idea about the green side, but on the air side I know as much about when I'm going to deploy as my unit does.  It's quite possible they don't know who or what is required yet so they are giving you guys a warnord.  If they know and aren't telling you then they are asses.

Have you ever stopped to consider what info you are putting out there?

How hard would it no be to go through your previous posts and figure out what unit that is, and the nature of their mission?

You just put on the net that you have to complete your SRP paperwork. Even the dumbest intel gathering goat fucker can google " Military SRP paperwork" and get :

Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) is a program within the United States Army, including its reserve components (the Army Reserve and Army National Guard) to qualify soldiers for pending deployments.

While not classified, it would certainly fall under "sensitive", and should not be discussed on an open source.

Use your head to do something other than to stuff your face.

Seriously, USE YOUR BRAIN.

it depends on the unit.  If OP is in a signal BN or something not part of a BCT then he likely won't do a CTC rotation.

It helps to get spun up.  If it doesn't happen, you've lost nothing.

If it does, then you're prepared.

So start packin'.

On the Air side as part of a unit mobilization, we would frequently do a mass two-day catch up on all outstanding training requirements or "refreshers", and the rest would get pencil-whipped.

I think you're going places, OP.

What is your current MOS and in what MOS are you slotted on the UMR?

Your unit only has to be 80% capable to go out the door.

Strange that a reservist would go to GD to ask questions about orders and not his unit, chain of command and all.

Appreciate the OPSEC warning, but nothing sensitive was posted here.  I was just generally curious about what role MOSQ played in reserve unit deployments.  Appreciate the responses for those who did comment.
