yeah i don't ever recall anything louder... also didn't know that DVD existed..off to amazon! |

My first concert, as well. Deep Purple is a large part of the soundtrack of my youth.
ETA: I just remembered that I had a sticker made with one of those plastic label guns stuck to the dash of my car ('64 Impala). It read "HIGHWAY STAR CAR". It was pretty cool at the time, but would be considered tacky as hell now. |

When I saw the Perfect Strangers tour, Ian Gillan started Singing Jesus Christ Superstar in the middle of one of his song riffs ( It was amazing!!) Ian has one of the best voices in Rock and an incredible vocal range. |

I was bad in my youth ,,,,,,,,, I did a bad......... school dance last song always ended in a slow waltz ...My father was great friends with the music store owner and I got my hands on the first 45's of smoke on the water. nobody at school had it yet...... I got the dance DJ to spin that sucker as the last song...... Welcome to rock mother fuckers ......... I miss the 70's |
| Saw them in Vegas in the mid 70's as a teenager. If I remember right, a couple of people up near the speakers passed out from the volume. I didn't think sound could do that to you. Or maybe it wasn't the noise (it was the 70's)...but the loudest concert I ever remember attending. |

DP MK II Pace, Blackmore, Gilliam, Lord (RIP), Glover was probably one of the top 5 greatest rock bands. The constant touring and push by the record company to churn out more records eventually tore them apart. Jon Lord once said in an interview that the believed if he was the manager and had made the group take time off from the grind the group would have stayed together for several more years.

I still see her every now and then. Her and her husband bought the house across the street from my Mom. But back to Deep Purple.. Smoke On The Water has got to be the most played garage band song ever. And it's fucking awesome when they nail it. |

Steve Morse is a hell of guitar player. My favorite and I made it a point to go and see him whenever he was around with the Steve Morse Band or the Dixie Dregs. One time after a show he sat down with us at our table and bullshitted with us for about an hour. Dave LaRue is an outstanding bassist as well, maybe the best there is. |
