I want to be able to edit pics and videos, short of buying an I7 Mac, Im wondering if this computer can be faster without a lot of headaches and as cheap as possible,


So what would work or is this computer better as a boat anchor?

Amd A4 is pretty weak, and the 32 bit OS doesn't help either.  If you could install a 64 bit version of win7, plus buy an ssd hard drive and the components below, it wouldn't be a boat anchor anymore...

You could chose a distro of Linux that you like and see what it can do.
Plenty of Open Source graphics editing tools out there.

Memory and drive will certainly help, but yeah the CPU is going to be a bit of a bottleneck.

If we knew some more about the system we could probably let you know its limits of upgrades.
