closest thing ive got so far is - 44.0gr varget cci primers 168gr smk bthp OAL from primer to tip of bullet setting at 2.920 .. anyone figured it out yet? |

Why try to duplicate / replicate a factory load? Work up your own. We can't do it for you, everyone's rifle is different. If you are set on replicating it, then load it to the same specs. Match its OAL and use enough powder to match the velocity of the factory round. |

The SAAMI COAL (not to ogive) for the .308 Winchester is 2.805" IIRC, 2.920" is seating the bullet out. If you're trying to duplicate a factory BH load, you need to keep that in mind. Also, there is info out there as far back as 2010 that BH used the Hornady 168gr HPBT and possibly a non-canister grade TAC powder, not available to us. Use Federal GMM 210M primers and load it to 2650 fps through a standard 24" barrel. Apples to apples. Chris |
