Hijacked by anti-hunters, the term ‘trophy hunting’ has taken on a negative connotation in society – it’s time to take it back. Here’s a start to reframing the trophy-hunting discussion with non-hunters.

Trophy hunting has a bad connotation to me. It means if you ain't got the cash, you ain't gonna hunt where the trophies are.

Good read. Something that always bothers me is all the "hunters" who will pronounce how much the dislike trophy hunting, when they are participating in the very same thing, with a different goal. Or those that think that trophy hunters are only in it for the head and nothing else, when nothing is further from the truth. As far as someone leaving the meat behind to rot, that person is a poacher not a hunter. Referring to people guilty of wildlife crimes as hunters hurts our image more than anything else.

Well, 'meat' hunting has enjoyed a worse connotation than 'trophy' hunting.
