Living in LA we have terrific choices in hot sauces. Strolling though the local Vallarta Market, I grabbed a few new flavors to try. I grabbed the 49 cent espeical in the plastico bottle and behold my gringo tastebuds have found a new paradise fresh from Sinaloa.

From the standard Cholula of Jalisco and Tapatio of Guadalajara to the sudeo-exotic Gringo Bandito of San Diego, hop upon the magic winged Macaw and soar into the mountains of complex flavor and delight.

Go to your local Latino/Hispanic/Mexican market and ask for La Guacamaya.

Once you taste it, you will see why they sell it by the liter and 5 liter bottles too.

Im a big hot sauce fanatic and i have a cabinet full of them. Personally, anything made of scorpion pepper is my favorite tasse. But its hard to find that everyday in your grocery store.

So my go to, and i highly, highly suggest to anyone who enjoys a strong heat and strong flavor but missing the acidic after tone of ghost pepper sauce to try Texas Pete's Hotter Hot Sauce. Its only $0.97 at the grocery store and my favorite.

I tend to favor the Carib Islands hot sauces...

I like regional sauces.. I had a bunch from Antigua and Dominica in the Caribbean.. they were pretty tasty!  One of my former employees who went to medical school there sent them to me.

I also love HOT too, so volcano dust, blairs, and daves usually have a place in my spice cabinet.

I always have tapatio and cholula on hand at home as well as petes, and louisiana.

I'm not very picky, these are what I use as well as the ubiquitous Tabasco.

Whatevs.

FYI OP, Cholula is the only commercially available hot sauce made with the pequin pepper, a small flavorful pepper indigenous to the Mexican region. I'm a huge fan of pequin peppers and do like Cholula.

My favorite sauce is homemade from scorpion and pequin peppers.

Tabasco for fried fish, grilled pork chops and cheap steak.  jalapenos and hot Hatch green chilies run through a blender for everything else.

The waiter at the local Mexican restaurant brought out some of his personal stash when i was there Monday night.  Dave's Scorpion Pepper Sauce.

Wow.  HOT!  Great taste, but really hot.

The best hot sauce known to man is in New York,of all places. It's a somewhat  pricey $12 for a Corona bottle of it but if you are ever travelling across on I-84,go south on route 9 for about a half mile and get some from Maya Cafe.

I have a cabinet full of every variety of Tabasco,Cholula original, lime, and chipotle,Texas Pete,Franks,a couple kinds of Dave's Insanity,Louisiana,Crystal,Buffalo,Yucateco and who knows what else I can't recall  and nothing off a shelf comes close.

I like the garlic. Chipotle has way too much vinegar.

My go to hot sauce is Valentina Extra Hot.  It's about a buck for a massive bottle.

I also keep sriracha around for stir frys, regular Tabasco for eggs, and chipotle Tabasco for when I want something with a little more flavor.  For the ultimate in heat, a local burrito place makes a sauce with Trinidad Scorpion and ghost pepper.  Let's just say a bottle of that lasts a long time.

I can't find a pic of it but it's called:

TSAR BOMB

This shit, is off the fucking hook hot.

I just ordered this for a party I had.  The Chili-Lime is very, very good.  I enjoy all of the Cholula sauces.  They're very mild, but add enough spice to make things interesting.  They are not as vinegary as Tabasco.

For most plates I like Cholula.  It's not hot, but I really like the flavor.  For some plates, I like the Vietnamese Chili Garlic sauce from Huy Fong.  This is a little hot, but still not unmanageable.  I can (and have) eaten much hotter sauces, but generally they usually taste like ass.

I'm a few miles away from Hot Sauce Depot... I've had a couple of orders from them

I don't like the really hot stuff, I just like some warm flavor. Cholula garlic and green Tabasco are my cheap standbys

Widow - No Survivors is a pretty hot one. I literally used one or two drops to warm up a bowl of bland chili, it just doesn't have any flavor to it though.

my go-to cheap sauce, but they are a little on the mild side.

for something a bit hotter, Sancto Scorpio (scorpion pepper) has a good balance of flavor

I also received a bottle of ass blaster as a gift, it has an extract that will light you up (some dude on youtube @3:50)

Living in Maine we don't have a great selection of hot sauces to chose from.  Texas Pete's is around and I like that but some of the habanaro ones have a flavor that I like.  Just hard to find them sometimes.
