Not surplus http://www.prepandmore.com/brands/InterArms.html |

support them if you can... they were sponsors for a while, and have help get a lot of jerry cans out to the survival forum people as the supply got pinched by the carb regs, but I guess they may have dropped it. I've brought several of the good israeli blankets, they were intact, good to great shape (no holes or patches), but don't know about the other czech ones. if you want something just to throw in the car, for emergencies and not regular use, the 2nds would probably do. |
|
Just be advised that some of their military blankets are in fact new production bullshit like the swiss ones |
|
These are a bit expensive, but really nice.

+1, They make a damn good blanket. Was hard to justify the cost at first, but they made a believer out of me.

There is a small town woolen mill that uses the same equipment it started with in the 1800's.
Woolen Mill Edit; should have read a few more posts. Definitely highly recommended. |

Very high quality new production European merino wool Not surplus http://www.prepandmore.com/brands/InterArms.html Thanks. Those do seem nice. Having spent most of my life in Maine, I appreciate a good thick wool blanket. The Prepandmore.com blankets are very nice. Super thick and warm! To give you an idea on the value check out this other company selling Merino wool blankets from Poland. They look to be the exact same thing, but not the subdued colors......mucho expensive. Lot of good info about Merino wool...... http://www.merinoblankets.com/ or if you decide you don't want to spend so much money on wool...... Prepandmore.com has US GI Intermediate cold weather sleeping bags for $18.99 http://www.prepandmore.com/intermediate-cold-weather-sleeping-bag-black/ and summer patrol bags for $7.99 http://www.prepandmore.com/patrol-warm-weather-sleeping-bag-green/ |

Quoted: They are but not what comes to mind when someone asks where to get wool blankets. I'm not putting a Pendleton blanket in the back of my car trunk for an emergency. Maybe if I was a millionaire. Quoted: Quoted: http://www.pendleton-usa.com/section/blankets-throws/2178.uts These are some of the best, and are authentic wild west or some such. Yeah I have one my mom bought me for Christmas, never realized how much they were worth until I looked it up one day. |

You'd be better off buying one of the more recent vintage woodland sleep systems than that old intermediate bag It would be OK to keep in the trunk for an emergency, I suppose Quoted:

Those were the modular sleep system bags The website is down now anyways Yeah it was just the summer bag Above it was the old intermediate temps bags that are worthless once they get wet When it comes to the modular bags I wouldn't get just the summer bag Spend the extra cash and get the whole system and then tailor it to your immediate needs Quoted:
it's a shame it's down. I want to order! Plenty of the surplused woodland modular systems are on the market by now |

This. I have half a dozen. For eleven bucks you can't go wrong. They are heavy and extremely warm. The only downside is that they are fucking ugly and they stink when you first open them. |
