You've got to.

Every time you go to post a pic, you have to delete the "http://" because OBVIOUSLY the link you copied ALWAYS ALREADY HAS HTTP://!

It's long past due to fix this minor issue.... over the years and years of people posting here, it has to add up to a substantial amount of time some have spend deleting those 4 letters. Probably WEEKS for some heavy posters.

Please do it!

Edit.

Some of us stopped using archaic computers to view a arfcom and using a phone to post photos makes it exponentially more difficult.

You realize the http:// is highlighted?  And if you just <shift>-<ins> to paste instead of clicking in the edit field it automagically overwrites the highlighted http://?

Or just hit the fucking backspace key to kill it with one keystroke?

Full view on a touchscreen mobile device doesn't work that way... I can't believe people still sit at a computer to log in to arfcom.

I agree. Ditch the http.

you simply paste your link right on top of the highlighted "https" shit. it goes away by itself. *unless, for some bizarre reason, you decided to click the box, before you passed into it, making the http double itself.) copy your shit, click the tab for adding your link or pic, just right click, and hit paste. don't click inside the text box. the link will paste itself there, and delete the "http" shit that's there when the box opens.

Or most image hosting sites give forum embed codes, so I usually just skip the insert box and copy the link that says

Have never had to remove http for pictures.

What are you all hosting pictures with?

Both photobucket and tinypic are free and will create a pastable link with the image tags already in it.  Just copy/paste into the post.

It's easy as pie.
You can tell who doesn't do it that way because of the trash on both sides of the picture at the bottom.

If I'm linking a story, when the box comes up I just ignore the HTTP code that's already there and post the link right over it.
But then, I'm not using a phone. I don't care about the problems of hipsters.
