What do I need to set up a laptop to run OBD 2 diagnostics?

I'd prefer something that would run on a windows 10 laptop over tablet based. What kind of harnesses and adapters are needed?

Any websites that give in-depth info? Everything that comes up on google is an ad for their particular product, look for more generic straight info.

I got a PLX Kiwi2 obd2 bluetooth adapter for christmas. They also offer a wifi adapter. I use dashcommand on a tablet and my phone to read the info from the ecu. I'm not sure if that will work on a laptop or not though.
