Have any of you used the "bark-free" device that emits an electric tone that is supposed to deter barking? I am just curious as to whether or not these actually work? thanks lwc |

Yes I have one. Putting a shock collar on my neighbors dog is out of the question but not out of my dreams. I've loaned it to another neighbor who bought his own after testing it out on his neighbors pair of barking dogs. The next door neighbor wears two hearing aids and has a little shit-zoo that doesn't stop barking morning, noon or night when he puts it outdoors. It barks at cars, the trees, ants - everything. I bought a bark free last year and hung it up between the houses. The dog came by an yapped once and stopped. It yapped a second time and then scurried off to bark at the wind blowing on the far side of the house. The dog wouldn't come to my side of the house for the longest time. The nieghbor's adult daughter asked what the thing was aimed at their house and I told her it was a crow repellent - she belived it. I actually like crows as they eat up the snails from the garden. My bark free went bad when it filled with water so I'm going to buy a couple more. I want to get the ultra-sonic frequency of the thing. If it's below 23Khz I plan on recording it for continous playback on my computer through a nice 230 watt per channel amplifier into a handful of high frequency tweeters beamed at the neighbors house. I'll either make the dog crazy or peel the paint off the neighbor's house. Why do people let their dogs continously bark? It takes about 15 minutes to train a dog to not bark unless it should. |
