With this new EO coming its sad to admit, but a lot of FFLs are happy about it.
Not so long ago FFLs weren't supposed to set up at gun shows. They were basically just a swap meet between fellow gun people. Then some rule changes and the dealers moved in. I enjoy going to look for deals and have seen several dealers complaining about individuals trading and the dealers not getting the firearm. I know several who have been wanting to have all firearm sales go thru them. Some have even said they would just stop bringing inventory to shows and just handle background checks. Has anyone else seen that FFLs don't seem to upset about this EO? |

Yep, I'm 27 and only have been to a handful of gun shows when I was a teen. 99% of the sellers were FFLs. |

I bought my SKS at a local gun show, around 24 years ago. Filled out the federal form for the sale, since the guy was an FFL. There were lots of other FFLs there. Last few years, non-FFLs having tables and selling guns, seems to have gotten kinda rare. The BATF setting up their own table at the shows, may have had something to do with that, though I haven't noticed a BATF table in the last year or so. Non-FFLs now mainly walk around with a sign, instead of getting a table. |

Had a discussion with the owner of LGS today about this, he is not a big conspiracy guy but his fear was that the EO says all transfers of ownership (sale or gift) would have to go through a FFL, then the BATF comes in to FFL finds one discrepancy on paperwork and pulls FFL then nobody can legally buy a firearm in that area.
Interestingly he said his greatest fear was that Hillary gets elected and the litigation restrictions get repealed and everybody that has a hand in selling, manufacturing or other aspect of a firearm can be sued when somebody uses it in a shooting. Unless someone could afford and find insurance they could not stay in business. |

My local FFL was all for ALL TRANSACTIONS going through an FFL for backgound checks. It adds to his bottom line.
Consider this............. If the Govt REALLY wanted gun sales to only be between non-prohibited people. Wouldn't is be logical to make background checks FREE. Mind you that.....in the first place, I don't support background checks or an FFL, to do gun sales as a private person. Aloha, Mark |

I've been going to gunshot for nearly 30 years and I've always seen dealers. I've never heard the " not supposed to. " |

I've been going to gunshot for nearly 30 years and I've always seen dealers. I've never heard the " not supposed to. " Long ago....... FFLs were suppose to do business only at their lic location. That ment that the address on the lic........was your place to conduct business. Of course, things have changed. Aloha, Mark |
