Haven't talked to my Father in about two and a half years. I could tell you horror stories, but lets just say I had enough of his lying, stealing and drug addiction. Got a call yesterday that has been in ICU for the past two weeks as probably won't make it. If by some chance he does, he's never leaving the hospital again. I have tried to call the hospital, but they will not give me any information without a pin number. Problem is, when he was admitted there was no one there. No one knows this pin number, nor is there anyone on his contact list. Hospital says that by law, they can not give out any info without it, besides telling me he is in very serious condition. His ex wife lives near there and has been going up to the hospital. They are not telling her much, because they are not married anymore. I am his closest relative. She mentioned today about me getting a Power Of Attorney. Part of me doesn't want to get involved, part of me does. If I get a POA, am I liable for debts, funeral costs, ETC.? What do I need to know? |

Hurt on the last one. The VA has refused to do much for him in many years because he could not pass a drug test. They cut of his meds and have refused to raise his disability. |
