Ok, I rented this movie not too long ago (FWIW, it was a waste of time and money). In one of the scenes, Tom Berringer and his spotter are in an elevated position in a building and Berringer is taking aim on some high mokey-moke. The spotter is reading off distances and windage adjustments. He then starts to tell Berringer the "angle" reading, but is told it's not needed. Anyhow, the spotter is using this card sized device with what looks like a small plumb line attached. What is that and how is it used? I'm assuming this is a legit item and not some Hollywood concoction. |

Okay, good. I was at blockbuster the other night, and almost rented it. Looks like I made the right choice. What he used, I think, is called a "Slope Doper" and is used to calculate the angle of inclination or declination for a shot. Go over to Sniper Country, I think they have a link to a place that sells them. -UHLEK- |

Quoted: Seen the movie, was some what entertaining. Not as good as first one. Entertaining only if you enjoy squirming at movies slapping you in the face with their BLATANT lack of research. When you have a guy saying "Mauser, best made rifle ever (paraphrase)" when he's holding a Nagant, he stops being credible. When you have a black man going undercover as a local in a Slovac country it becomes laughable. When you have such a highly trained sniper in the role of cannon fodder, it just becomes stupid. |

That movie sucked out loud, for all the reasons listed above and then some. Worst thing is I rented it and then it fell behind the TV....for like 2 weeks.....finally got a call from the video store. So, not only did I pay $3.50 to rent that crap, I also paid a $20 late fee. [banghead] |
