Ok folks... Bought a couple of prime filets for dinner tonight...

Simple salt and pepper, a little veg oil for a Meillard and we're off to the races in the cast iron skillet. Seared on the stove top then finished in the oven. Post 135*F temp...

They coasted up to ~144*F then after a rest I cut into thus...

Perfection.

Dinner pic:

Plated on paper because I'm lazy

Smith & Wesson 19-4
Othello Alaskan Trapper
Cloth kitchen towel for napkin which won't be necessary.
No side because, why? I have steak.
Tape measure
Remotes
Adult beverage in coffee mug, because that's how I like to drink my bourbon. (Willett)

No long rifle because I don't have a safe in the apartment yet.

Sorry, but a good steak never needs "dipping" sauce.

You did okay on the meat but then you served it with A1 sauce on a paper plate and you're using a dirty micro fiber cloth as a napkin.

I will award you an "A" for acceptable.

At least you put the sidearm down so you can pick it up and use it, and it's a revolver.

But paper plates? Really?

I'm not defending the deficiencies, but there are reasons for some of them...

First off, it's not that vial whale diarrhea A1. It's Pickapeppa, which is glorious.

Second, like I said in the OP, the napkin was never going to be needed, so who cares what it is. I can eat like a civilized first world person.

Third, no rifle because the apt next door was broken into last week and I do t have a safe. It's an SBR and I'd prefer not having the nightmare of a stolen NFA item so it's in the safe at my parents house (who are also on my trust.)

Fourth, I'm surprised I haven't caught shit for the coffee mug bourbon...

I was gonna give you shit for not cooking it over fire

but the pic of the cut open meat looks absolutely PERFECT!!!

Ive seen dudes seemingly try to undercook steaks to impress the rare meat eaters of GD, yours is not underdone, it looks wonderful

The actual dinner pic sucks ass

Please tell me that isn't steak sauce

My Grandfather used to do that whenever my grandmother would cook with hamburger. I eat my steak rare but the thought of raw hamburger makes me gag. I think I need to man up and try it.

1/10. Steak sauce, no side dishes, your glass is empty, paper plate, and you just finished using your napkin to wax your car. Tape measure and remote control docks you some points, and it looks like you're using a scuffed-up leather couch as a dining room table

That said, the meat looks pretty good. And at least your toes are covered.

It's far from raw.

6/10, would eat, but at a table with a rifle, reloads and no steak sauce.

What the hell with the sauce ?

If you need sauce on your steak then something went horribly wrong.

6/10. Good cut of meat, I like mine a little more rare, but that is certainly acceptable.  Steaks sauce? W T F.  Lack of at least a potato side is kinda disappointing.   I could care less about the napkins, stapler, ruler whatever.   No long gun is understandable.   Lonely firearm is a revolver?  Needs more full sized semiautomatic.

Ok so here's the deal... Last year I had a gastric surgery. I have to eat very slowly but I have to eat a certain amount of protein every day.

Because I eat so little at a time and so slowly, I basically eat several small meals for dinner over the course of a couple of hours in order to get the appropriate amount of protein in me.

This was plate number 3 after about an hour. I can only eat about 4oz at a time but I need to eat like 12oz to get the daily protein intake. So after an hour and a half of very slowly chewing steak, it gets a little boring. Sometimes I need something to change it up. And that's the real, less than interesting reason I do use steak sauce.

And again, it's NOT A1. It's Pickapeppa.

I have an SP101 on my hip. That count as a companion?

And I can't eat carbs due to my surgery, see post above RE steak sauce.
