I need a range bag.
Must hold a lot of stuff (at least 4 pistols, ammo, eyes/ears, tools, etc etc etc).
Must be affordable for those wishing to give gifts.
What are ya'll using?

I use Shimano tackle bags like this....

EDT: Pistol cases actually fit really nicely in these. Just about the same size as the removable plastic tackle trays.

Going to have to copy and paste. It's what I use and its held up great. Stitching is good, zippers pretty heavy duty as is the material itself.

I hope the stitching and zippers are good; the bags are $60-70. I'll hotlink for you:

I try not to buy specific "range bags" instead i do like the guy with the shimano bag and look for something that fits the bill without the upcharge of being a "range bag"

For steel match i carry all my crap in a small backpack.

If you are looking to cart 4 pistols, magazines, and other crap in it look into a nice padded case like mentioned above, or maybe a laptop case with a shoulder strap?

Ammo cans for range supplies

Back when I was a sponsored shooter, I used a Shooter's Connection Tournament Series range bag.

It's huge.

Actually kind of a PITA to carry.

Before that I used a Dillon Precision range bag.  I had two actually.  One was OD green, and the other was black.   I was at some major IDPA match and like everybody had a black range bag.  So after that I made it a point to use the OD green bag.

Now that I don't compete any more and just go to the range by myself, I use a DeWalt tool bag:

I don't have a garage, so when I head out to the range my neighbors most likely think, "Oh, he must be going to work on somebody's house."

I use this blue super gay Ralph Loren Polo gym bag I got free from my mom. It screams "lets hit the showers" not GUN

I just ordered a LAPG bag for $19

Who brings coloring books to the range?

I use a Wal-Mart kid's backpack featuring a sports team logo.  I have an SUV, and can't put anything in the trunk.  Although it's hard to see in the back, and there's a roller shade, I don't want to take chances.  I would have gotten a "My Little Pony" or "Frozen" backpack if I saw one.  Works great for two pistols , ammo, 2 sets of ears and eyes, and loaders.

LAPG jumbo bailout bag might be worth a look.

I have the regular size one, it's pretty nice, especially for the $20 I gave for it.

My go-to is 1 LAPG bailout bag per caliber.

My second choice is the Wolf range bag with the padded outer inserts.

What mine looks like.(this one is a little different) It is huge. Can carry 500rnds/caliber plus about 15-20 ar mags, places to stash pistols ~4 or more, targets, can of CLP, cleaning supplies, tools. Pretty much anything you would or could need but it gets very heavy

I have one of these Seahorse 4 pistol case.  It's a Pelican knockoff, but it's solidly built.  I'm getting another for Christmas from SWMO, since she ordered it direct to the house instead of to her work place, or her parents place.

This is what I carry at USPSA matches

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/2208190091/ced-professional-shooting-range-bag-nylon

----------------------------------------------------------

I also have the MIDWAY for extra stuff, like my Chrony, etc, I take this when I practice, test loads, etc.

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939221689/midwayusa-competition-range-bag-system

-------------------------------------------

for ammo, and spent brass, I have some of these "border shift" bags

https://www.dillonprecision.com/content/p/9/pid/23843/catid/26/Dillon___039_Border_Shift__039__Ammo_Bag

But more recently, I've been buying cheap toolbags, and with a white paint pen, marking the caliber, 38, 40, 45, 6.8, 308,  etc.

Inside, handloaded ammo is inside zip-lick freezer bags, tagged with load data

Spotting scopes, chronys, tripods, steel targets, ect., get packed up, depending on what I'm shooting that day

I am using a similar one now, you are right they are very heavy duty, reinforced bottom. But its a bit small.

I WAS using one of the older Midway Big Range bags, but that was waaayyy to large for me, I found myself wanted a smaller pack.

SOooo I ordered a Mil-tec molle backpack 36Litre volume, I hope that will work for a range bag, that is also part of the trunk gun pack.
$40-45 on Amazon, and occasionally on sale for I think it was $36.

Don't forget to check the fishing gear.  My "range" bag was actually a tackle bag.  It's a pretty tough material(hasn't been ripped by the feet on my front rest), has several external zippered pockets/pouches, including a designated holder for your polarized fishing glasses (or in this case, safety glasses), and has a rigid bottom for structure.  It came with some cheap clear plastic tackle trays but I just set those aside for other uses, they weren't attached to the bag.

I'd give you a link, but a quick scan of BassPro and Cabelas doesn't show the same bag (no surprise, I got it 10 years ago).

ETA: LOL, beat by first post!
