The folks over at TacPack were kind enough to send me a box for review and here are the results...

Just got December yesterday, included a 6 inch ar500 steel target. Not to help out his shill, but I've been impressed with it so far. Always stuff I will use. |
| I don't understand the appeal of these random subscription boxes. You pay $50 for a box of crap and hope at least one item is worth it to you. I'd much rather spend the same money on things I actually wanted. The subscription box concept does seem to be gaining popularity because I keep seeing new companies springing up that offer this service. |

Was the target from a reputable company? In other words, are you sure it's ar500 and going to hold up? Just hate these kinds of "paid" reviews. Of course you're going to give a glowing review of the company that gave you free shit, the free shit probably came with the caveat that if you were going to post something negative that you consulted with them 1st or didn't post it at all. At least you've confirmed that they send the same shit out to everyone vs. let's see what random cheap crap we have on hand to throw in your box. |

I give an honest review whether its a product I have paid for or was sent to me compliments of the company.
If you don't like the idea its pretty simple to just not buy it. I don't have the disposable funds to subscribe to this on a monthly basis but for folks that do its a great way to get a nifty pack o stuff every month that you will almost definitely find a use for. I, too would rather be putting funds into reloading components so I can get out there and do more shooting. |

That flash hider looks like ass. Plus its the same price as a nice Vortex or an AAC which actually have been tested. |

For certain things, i think this is a cool concept, especially when it tips the $10 or $20 per month scale. It's not a huge drain and gives you cool little gadgets.
While i like the idea of having this for gun related items, $50 is just way too much. It's not that you're not getting your money's worth, it's that there's no way of knowing the $50 you're spending is going to give you any sort of usable value. Of the contents listed above, the only thing i would actually probably use is the wipes. That's it. I don't like stickers and morale patches rarely get used and end up in a drawer of junk. The flash hider is okay, i guess, but i typically prefer using a brake. I have much higher quality knives than the Schrade for EDC, so that would end up in the junk drawer as well. The K-Tool? I already have a LaRue beverage entry tool, so in the drunk drawer it goes as well. So if every month is similar this one (which it probably is) it will be full of stuff that someone might find useful, but i'm certainly not that somebody. I'd rather save that $600 a year for something i actually want. |
